Becoming a Hilton property comes with some issues

This is our 3rd year and we have loved the Sirata. Understandably, there have been a lot of changes because of the hurricane and the merger of Hilton. Unfortunately, our room was never serviced. I had to retrieve my own towels, clean sheets, take out the garbage and sweep the floors of sand. We were there for 5 days, and not cleaned once. Even after we requested, she made 2 beds with the same sheets, with sand all over, and did not clean the living area/kitchenette. There were 5 of us in the room, she brought 3 towels, once. We took towels from the pool area to shower with. The 2 computer systems made check in and check out take over 20 minutes. I’m hoping next year when it’s officially merged, some of these issues will be ironed out. The bar/restaurant staff were amazing.

Very Disappointed

You literally have to use your cell phone to call the hotel to get the front desk for service. When you try to use the phone that’s in the room just busy signals. One of the elevators was broken and guests saved seats at the pool with a sign that states it’s prohibited. I’ve stayed in nicer rooms for a lot less. Will not go back there.

Nice hotel being updated

We had a wonderful time. We requested an updated room, and we got one. Very clean and wonderful view of the ocean from our balcony. All staff was very friendly. Only minor down side was they can be a little slow to deliver extra bedding or towels. One morning there was jack hammering that starter at 8am but we knew they are in the middle of upgrading the hotel and theres construction workers around during the week. Wasnt too disturbing tho.

Old style Beach Resort

My room had no shower curtain. Cleaning staff happened to be in the room and reported the probem. it took staff 24 hours to get one. Interior phone did not work. My rm was in Building 4 , 2 Elevators serviced Bldg 4. One was broken without any signs on it and the other kept on breaking. Running up 6flts of stairs wasn't any fun. Plus the Hotel itself is ion a transition phase to Hilton. The quality has to be improved

Spring Gettaway

Overall, my husband & I had a great stay. Our room was very clean. However, on our 2nd day we left our room with the window open for housekeeping at 9 something in the a.m. When we arrived back in our room in the p.m. around approx 6-7pm, housekeeping knocked to tidy the room. We were quite dismayed bc all we wanted to do was relax around 6/7pm at night: we were gone ALL day enjoying the amenities of the pool and beach At that time, it was a lil late and I felt they could've tidied the room earlier than what was being offered. We just settled for clean towels instead I ended up paying $40 extra a day for "resort fees" and $25 per day for parking which added an extra $65 per day to my bill on top of the extra $90 something extra "incidental" fee that was due when we arrived I understand that sometimes extra fees are included but I really wasn't expecting an additional $65 per day plus "incidindental" fees. My husband and I will still def come again. We really enjoyed our stay and will def recommend to friends/fam

Wait until all renovations are completed!

Positives: remodeling underway post hurricane. They have done a great job and you can see the work is still in progress. The view was great from our room. Con’s: our room wasn’t ready at check in, there was only 1 elevator working and they had us on the top floor(6th.) it was very slow and there were always people waiting to get on. We did not have enough pillows or towels for the 4 of us, as the room occupancy was also 4. The day of checkout housekeeping started knocking early, first time they tried to see us, making us feel rushed to checkout, they even came right before checkout to make sure we were packing up. When mentioned to the lady who checked us out, she was very rude to me about it, saying you should know since you have been here before. The listing also needs to be updated with what is open and what is no longer available (no playground or hammocks anymore.) one pool was so crowded that you could not get a turn in the hot tub at all. Only 1 bar was open for the amount of people there. Overall this visit was a major let down due to customer service. Until all renovations are completed, I would wait as the resort fee was a waste of money. There were no activities for the family, bring back the free drinks and more family activities.

The f is beautiful; resort is less than desirable.

Was recommended by a good friend who lives in the area. Arrived to find that when part of Sirata became Hilton (building 1 & 2 are Hilton, 3 & 4 are Sirata), our reservation somehow got canceled so the room we reserved was not available. We were put up in another (dirty) room for the night that must've had water damage because the laminate tile on the bathroom floor was peeling up. Got locked out of that room the following day. When getting key fixed, I was told it'd be the first room cleaned and I'd get a call when our actual room was ready, but never did. After 2hrs of waiting, I went to the front desk only to be told it had been ready. NO WHERE on any websites do they tell you the resort is under renovations. Most of the ground level rooms are unrentable, covered in plastic. Construction noise starts at 7am and goes until 6pm. Fire alarms got set off by construction workers. The Compass Grille is closed. It takes 2 hrs to get food/drinks from Rum Runners, and is priced way too expensive for what you actually get. For our "inconvenience" we were given $200 in resort credit, which covered 1 mean and 2 drinks. So disappointed!

Hotel is Great / Restaurants on Site Not So Great

Hotel was nice. Room was comfortable, location was close to restaurants/stores and beach was very nice. Crabby Bills and Rick's Reef were two good places to eat. Hotel restaurants were not great. Had the Grouper for dinner at Rum Runners and it was dry. Also had dinner at Harry's Beach Bar and food was cold. Both restaurants took a while to get food and there were not many people eating at those times. Id go elsewhere for food as there are many other places nearby. Hotel was a great stay and staff was extremely nice. Restaurants not that great.

oops

When we checked in, they did not have our room available. They gave us ‘an upgrade.’ The room, not a junior suite, was smaller than what we had reserved and paid for. For our two week stay we wanted the suite to have space to accommodate our activities. The one they put us in had no microwave. The bathroom was the smallest it could be. It had a single sink outside the bathroom. The upgrade was the Gulf of Mexico view. It was a wonderful view. We enjoyed it over two weeks. As they had no other room available, we moved into the smaller room with the understanding that: 1) They would get us a microwave immediately. 2) They would be able to show us a junior suite that we could see the next day (at 11:00 a.m.). Despite several calls, we did not receive a microwave until the evening of the second day. When we went to the front desk on day two, the people at the front desk seemed to not know about our situation. After a short explanation, they told us they could show us a junior suite later in the afternoon. The clerk who showed us the room seemed to say that they really did not have one available. We decided to stay in the smaller room rather than wait any longer to unpack our belongings for the stay. They promised to get us a microwave pronto, and they did. The place was very welcome and accommodating. We had a wonderful trip. I would guess that our experience is an outlier. Still, they goofed up the reservation, and we all made the most of it. Terrible stay and service

We were given a queen room when a king room was booked. The room was very dirty with mold all over the bathroom and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We had asked to be moved to the correct room we booked or a room that did not smell of smoke, especially sensitive due to medical conditions, and were told there were no rooms available. There was no electricity in the middle of the night, no air conditioner, lights or fan. The walls had scribbles all over them and there were burns in the couch with holes. Very unprofessional that we were not accommodated with a new room AND we were not credited or refunded any amount for our stay. Outrageous to pay close to $600 a night for this accommodation.
