Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Raíz. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They helped arrange a sea turtle release as well as a scooter rental. They even helped arrange taxis when we needed medical attention. Overall we felt well taken care of the entire stay. Highlights: - Food and drinks: Sebastian made such delicious drinks and was so hospitable. Definitely get the Jardin Secreto drink! - Location: short walk to a beach that isn’t crowded. Definitely rent an umbrella to help with the sun! - Rooms: very well decorated and feels like eco luxury

Dirty property. Location is very underdeveloped. Dirt roads, little lighting. Linens were dirty with sweat stains and a blood stain. Nowhere to lay out, pool is basically a large bath tub. You also can’t swim in the beach nearby due to the drop off from sand to water. Maybe if this property had been a third of the price I could have said well you get what you pay for but for these rates, I expected something clean and comfortable. I’ve never done this before but I ate the cost of 2 nights and a flight change so I could leave as early as possible. Management didn’t seem to care much when I complained.

My stay at Raíz was a dream. The entire staff welcomed me with open arms and made me feel so cared for. Their GM Luis is an incredible person and so knowledgeable about mezcal! I had the best tasting experience with him. I am so happy I stayed here as a solo female traveler. I felt so safe during my stay. I really recommend Raíz to anyone visiting Punta Zicatela

Staff extremely friendly. Organic environment with a nice comfortable pool . Great and friendly music playlist. Many restaurant options nearby, but do take advantage of their delicious breakfast options, waterfalls shower feature nice to come home to after a long day.

Staff, including Brenda and Ariath, were friendly, helpful and efficient. The vibe at Raíz is very laid back and tranquil. Breakfast options were also delicious. There are eateries with music nearby with late night options that could be heard from our room. We would definitely return in the future.

Lo que hace muy placentera la estancia en este hotel ademas de sus instalaciones, es la gente que ahi trabaja. Desde el momento del check y durante toda la estacia. La vibra es buenisima y te hacen sentir como en famila desde el momento que haces check in. Además de que la comida y las bebidas estuvieron excelentes. Reconocimiento especial a Arath que nos ayudó mucho con la comida y la mixologia, a las muchachas de la cocina por todas las recomendaciones y al muchacho de Puerto Rico que al igual que Arath una super vibra.

Raíz is an outstanding hotel located very close to the beach and Punta Zicatela, but just far enough away to ensure a peaceful stay. The staff are exceptional. From the moment I arrived after a very long red-eye Ximena and Brenda at the reception were always super friendly and knowledgeable. The food was superior, Mitka in the kitchen always serving delicious food, but more than that the staff are just so warm, friendly and inviting. Bartender Luis and servers and bartenders Arath and Sebastian make a mean cocktail with interesting twists using local Oaxacan ingredients and were beyond friendly. This place won’t soon be forgot and I hope to return sometime in the future. Just maybe when it’s not so hot.

Pato, Jimena, Sebastián, Luis y Arath nos hicieron sentir como en casa y nos ayudaron con todas las dudas que se nos presentaron.
