Glamping under the stars

Nice glamming stay. Some issues (eg heater did not work, coffeemaker broken), but they fixed promptly.

It was an incredibly unique experience with amazing views of the country side and the midnight sunset! The igloo was plenty spacious for two people and more private than you think. Easily cooled or heated, but be careful of the morning sun heating the igloo up! Highly recommend you give it a try!

We had the most magical stay at the aurora igloo. If you are thinking of spending a night here, I would definitely recommend. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Iceland. It felt amazing to sleep

The Igloo was amazing. Eventhough, in the night it got a little colder it was the highlight of our Iceland Trip. We would love to come back!!!

The best hot chocolate ever!!! Complimentary hot drinks provided, hosts give excellent check in instructions. Even without the Aurora, absolutely stunning and magical experience.

It's really nice and we got to see the aurora at night but it's really hard to get the door to the igloo open.

Gorgeous stay in the dome!

We spent one night here as a fun novelty. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so we didn't see the northern lights or stars but that's ok! It was still a really fun quirky place to stay that was extremely comfortable and cute. Be aware: you can book an ingloo WITH or WITHOUT a bathroom. We booked one without a private bathroom so you have to walk a minute to the common building by the parking lot, it has multiple bathrooms and showers and a little kitchenette with a sink and espresso machine for use. It was like fancy camping. They had fresh towels, shampoo, etc. But we were surprised b/c we didn't read the fine print. Expensive but worth it for us for one night.

We saw Northern Lights and could see the eruption of the volcano at Grindavik from our igloo. It was warm and cozy even at the end of November. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch also. We loved it!

The igloo was great. It was raining when we arrived but at 2am we did see the Northern Lights. Very comfortable and set up beautifully.

I liked the serene and unique environment of the igloo. The beds were quite comfy. The accommodations were very pleasant. However, one thing was that it was fairly cold and very windy during my stay. That only made going to the bathroom a little unpleasant, but besides that everything else was great.

Fabulous

Amazing place for a completely back to nature experience with all the little luxury add ons. Under floor heating, electric blankets - sleeping under the stars in the cosiest of places. Extra treat was the spectacular aurora borealis! If you visit Iceland this is a must visit spot.

8/10 Very good

The igloo was lovely, very comfortable. We were sadly very unlucky with the weather - the wind caused an awful draft so it was very cold despite mutiple heaters. Was fine in bed thanks to the lovely heated mattress and thick duvet.

Issues with Igloo

We were excited to stay here and are not a picky couple. We think the idea and location is great, but the crack/rip in the floor I kept catching my foot on sucked. The shower is literally so tiny. The igloo was cool, but in the summer, the hot sun was not very nice and the AC unit couldn’t keep up. At night the heater wasn’t very good, blowing cold air. I looked up how to use the remote lol … the door was hard to lock and unlock. You have to lift the handle but no sign saying to do so. Finally, no housekeeping done and we were going to stay for 3 days but left a day early because it wasn’t comfortable. There was dust in the vents in the WC. The view is pretty, but an bit anticlimactic… just a field. Maybe it’s better in winter time, but it’s def more a glamping experience. Also, we had dirty/stained sheets and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days for two people. We ran out on day two and had to buy one. I’m glad places like this exist but if you are planning on staying, make it only one night. Oh, and the flies buzzing inside our igloo were terrible and I found dead ones under the bed. Could have been better with that. I slept in a tent on the Laugavegur Trail during this trip so I’m not a princess. I think they could do a lot better! We lost a few hundred dollars on this one. Go all the way to Vik and stay there. Much better accommodations there.

Unique experience, great way to be close to nature. Bit of a walk from the igloo to the bathroom and the parking area.

After an initial issue of getting into igloo( key was not working and had to be worked on back and forth for 30 minutes) and not being able to get a hold of anyone after initial call, we got in and wow view and the auroras showed up and the view of the auroras and sky was beyond the purview of my vocabulary. Overall magnificent.
