Feb 25, 2026My stay at Steam Pier Adventure was excellent. I was traveling solo for work in Tromsø, but it would also be a fantastic place to bring my family. While it is not overly fancy, it is very well appointed, clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. It had everything I needed and made for a really enjoyable stay.

Feb 15, 2026We stayed in the Aurora hut #1. We knew it would be small, but we were surprised to find that there was no shower and only a camping style toilet. Otherwise, the hut itself is very modern, the bed was very comfortable and the heat worked great.

Feb 9, 2026Stayed in Wolf which is a perfect room if you want to be disturbed through the night by the loud banging of doors associated with your local travel
Lodge. Poorly lit rooms and luke warm water are also a feature, with no milk for coffee nor access to a restaurant for breakfast or dinner. That being said, views of the natural and surrounding landscape were phenomenal, and one of the comfiest beds I’ve had the pleasure to sleep in. An amazing wood fire sauna to warm up in on the morning of departure, however it defiantly wasn’t worth the extortionate price per night to stay.

Nov 11, 2025Personal was very polite, although be aware that if you have a late check-in you should let them know in advance. The hotel is located in a wonderful place in Kvaløya. It is very close to Tromso and just 15 min away from the airport with the bus. From the hotel you can reach the beautiful Ersfjord in 13 min with the bus as well. So even if you are not renting a car, you can access many places from the hotel. I had the wonderful luck to stay there in my last two days in tromso and the Auroras we saw were breathtaking, and we could just simply leave our room and enjoy the view with less light pollution than in Tromso city. I would definitely repeat the experience. Plus they also organize Aurora and fjords tours with professional and very friendly competent guides.

Pros: Amazing views. Clean and comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Modern decor and all kitchen supplies provided. Helpful and kind staff. Our room had the most amazing wool blanket provided!!
Cons: we stayed in seafront 4, there was no hot water for the shower. Sinks had super hot water but shower was barely warm. There is no place in the shower to put your toiletries. No shelf or anything. We stayed 5 nights and had been told there was laundry onsite, however there was not. No tv in the room. We had an extended stay and would have liked to have watched the Olympics from our room.
Beautiful location, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes from the city center and a taxi one-way will cost you approximately $50. There is a bus line that runs in front of the hotel however, during our stay, it was snowing heavily so we opted not to use the bus. Not a lot of food options close by, but we did get delivery from a local pizza place.

Feb 23, 2026Our stay was one night. The property was satisfactory and provided all necessary amenities. However, the bedroom was too small for a double bed and the rooms were not soundproofed. This made it difficult to sleep and was a significant disturbance.
Parking was charged at 100 Kron per night and there were no alternative options. This felt somewhat forced.

Feb 16, 2026We stayed for three nights. The curtain in the kitchen area was missing, so when people walked past they could see clearly inside, which affected privacy.
There were no laundry facilities available for guests. Although we saw a laundry room on the premises, staff informed us that it was not for guest use. Access to laundry was one of the main reasons we chose this property, as we are travelling across several countries in Europe and needed washing facilities.

Jun 3, 2026First of all, the place is still being developed, so everything was only half finished, especially the hotel outside areas.
The floor heating malfunctioned on the first night and by the time reception was again open in the morning, the room had heated up to 35 °C making sleep utterly impossible during the night. Windows were locked, so it was impossible to open them. Of course, nothing on the room info binder how to handle the room temperature, or maybe instructions for the weird fan they have on the wall. The fan was in any case unresponsive too, so not much help there either.
To be fair, I discovered later how to unlock them, but you don't think straight when it's in the middle of the night and you're in distress.
After discussing about the problem with the seemingly indifferent staff, I came back later to the hotel and my room to discover that they had fixed the problem by opening up all the windows for the whole day, so a bird had flown in and shat on the floor, so I was wondering if I'm on a candid camera already.
1/10 experience, strong suggestion to stay away from this place.

Mar 17, 2026The setting for the hotel is simply stunning and its easy to get to on a bus if you don't want to hire a car.
We stayed in Reindeer which looked out toward Tromso so at night you have the lights in the distance, which is pretty but we would have preferred a view on the other side so it would be handy to understand that as you are booking. It is also upstairs and I didn't appreciate from the descriptions that its a two storey block with appartments. It was also stated that you are surrounded on three sides by water and its like being in a boat. I think you needed to be closer to the front of the block for that to apply.
The appartment was nice but with a bit of better planning could be stunning. The kitchen is small and things like washing pots is tricky because there is not enough room. We also struggled as there was only one pasta bowl between two, no cereal bowls and a chipped plate. A big issue was no where to put your luggage or unpack any clothes. You do have a couple of chairs but in Reindeer they are facing the door not making the most of the view. Have no idea why the bed is so high off the ground - felt like sleeping in a bunk bed!!
There is no provision for breakfast but there is a good supermarket about a mile away.
I did read some reviews saying that this is a scam and I think that is completely unfair. Whilst its not perfect, its close.

Sep 2, 2026Très joli logement à quelques minutes en voiture de Tromso. Sauna dans la chambre très agréable. La chambre est spacieuse avec un coin salon et un coin repas. La vue sur le fjord est très belle, même si je trouve ça. Dommage que les logements ne soient pas en front de fjord, une route en gravier, passe devant le logement. Seul point négatif, le parking est payant et je le trouve très cher en particulier quand vous avez réservé votre chambre. Emplacement est très pratique pour visiter Tromso et c’est environ.
