Very helpful, friendly staff with super hospitality. Whilst the maintenance of the building is ongoing as it's still fairly new, there is progress being made every week and the Royal Lodge is a great place to stay. It has an excellent location in the Town Centre and is a must for any visitors to Maidstone and the surrounding areas. Highly recommend!

It situated right in the town centre. A bit chaotic. The bathroom and toilet had no lock and male and female was sharing, that was stressful having to keep an eye on the door.

The member of staff was extremely rude and passive and dismissive. The bedroom was messy and there were lots of inappropriate noises going on at 2am. It was a very unsettling experience. Do not go.

It shouldn’t be call a hotel or anything rather a run down property that should be going for renovation project online pictures can be deceiving. Got in to the hostel ..it looks like rundown project building. Fights everywhere between the caretaker and one of occupancy. Won’t advise my worst enemies to stay there.

A decent B&B with great staff, nice layout and quality furnishings. It's still new so they are working hard to put everything in place but this is still a wonderful B&B in a prime location and is great value. There is free, high speed Wi-Fi available which is great. It's a fairly quiet venue even with being located in the centre of town, there is very little disturbance which makes for a good nights sleep. Highly recommend.

So after a hour trying to find the hotel we did. Then got there no parking as stated on booking however we was then told to park in a car park around back. Very basic room. Used shower gel bottles on floor a shared bathroom which wasn’t made clear. All night people shouting out windows and breaking bottles all in all probably worst one I’ve stayed in and won’t be going back. Felt more like a doss house than a hotel. I felt very uneasy in the room and wasn’t a pleasant stay

I booked in early so I had to do some cleaning myself. The studio flat is nice and bright with small practical kitchen. The bathroom was shared between male and female but had not lock. Checked out before before the lock was fitted, too slow in response to that issue. Staff was helpful.

Staff: Friendly and ready to help but the lack of a reception (just an unmanned desk on the stairwell) made what to do an arrival a bit of a mystery. It was a bit like a crystal maze challenge, if they ever had zone with a 'run-down housing estate' theme. "There's a phone number on the wall, call Mo!" Parking: It was a relief to find Mo and he was helpful in directing me to the nearby Maidstone council run car park. I had spent the previous 30 mins circling around the one-way system of Maidstone centre trying to find the on-site parking. It turned out it didn't really exist. Room: This is when things got concerning. I was shown to the room and given the electronic access code to a door. It led to a dark hall with three doors. One had a key in the yale lock. This was my room for the night. The bedroom smelt stale. It had dark finger marks streaked down the walls. I opened a drawer in the desk and it was full of litter. I sat on the bed and realised it had a range of hair types left over from the previous guest. Eye lashes on the pillow, some longer hair and some curly little hairs further down. I tried the TV but it didn't work. I accepted the situation and went to sleep only to be woken up by some heavy machinery at 2.30 am. The window didn't shut properly so there was a permanent gap. The bathroom turned out to be shared and looked like the guest in the third door was living there long-term as it was full of personal toiletries. I'm still not sure what I experienced....

The room has no lock on the door; locks are only available outside the two rooms. There are many flies in the hallway, and they are appearing throughout the rooms. There is a lot of dust everywhere. In addition, although we were given the Wi‑Fi password, we’re unable to connect.

Sincerely it was an experience I don’t want to repeat.The room wasn’t tidy. You can tell they only changed the sheets but didn’t properly clean the rooms. The fridge had a lot of food leftover, the cupboards had a lot of leftover groceries. Even the washing machine had a lot of laundry leftover from previous clients. There’s no toiletries please take your own. The room smelled so much like cigarettes that our clothes smelled like cigarettes.I booked two rooms for my family only for them to knock at 23:30 if we could give one of the rooms to two girls brought in by the police. I saw someone sitting for over 2 hours to check in but there was no one there and they were not picking the call.
