Basic
The room was basic. The shower didn’t work, nor did the phone to call the front desk. The rooms are old and dated. The furniture is basic. Food at the lodge was good and it is close to the grocery. The staff at the desk was helpful. Lou gave us good driving advice for our route upon leaving the park.

Reliable and Comfortable
We have been staying at Yavapai Lodge East for almost 40 years, visiting every few years. At some point the interior decor was updated, but it has been a while. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The bath is very dated, but clean. The thing is, you can't beat the convenience of being right in the park, so we go back. The floor is creaky, the room is old, but it is in the heart of where you want to be

Close to where we wanted to be in the Grand Canyon. Older rooms but clean and nice. Well taken care of. The food here was really good!!

Nice and comfortable stay
I enjoyed my stay here: the room was clean and spacious and close to the lobby and restaurants. I had some issues with getting the shower to work, but staff at the reception was very helpful and quickly explained to me how to operate it.
It does seem a little price for the standard offered, but you’re clearly paying for the location.

Nice lodge!
Cool place to stay in the Canyon! Lodge is in the trees with elk close by. Restaurant and bar in the main lodge close by. Easy driving distance to trails.

Starbucks in here
A friend and I stayed 2 nights here. The food and beer at the lodge was good, and so was the Starbucks inside the lobby! The shuttle is right out front and easy to use. Within walking distance to Mathers Point and Visitors Center.

Grand canyon tour
Location is within the park. Shuttle bus stop and market plaza are within walking distance. Room is reasonable for us with a family of 2 kids, clean but stanards are not up to the level considering the daily rent. A microwave or hot water kettle would be a good suggestion. There is a prototype coffee machine in the room though. The lodge restaurant common room has a drinking water source and microwave (5 min walking).

Expensive for what you get
Noisy could hear other occupants especially being downstairs. Furnishings were worn. Excellent location. Felt more like a motel.

Great location but poor quality
Great location for Grand Canyon. Expensive for very old fixtures and fittings. Definitely not worth the £250 / night despite the location

Excellent stay
Excellent location for exploring the Grand Canyon. Room was comfortable and the food was good. This had everything you needed, with a grocery store right next door. You can't go wrong with a stay here.

Brilliant. A truly fantastic stay. It is 100% worth staying in a hotel inside the national park grounds as you can spend as much time at the canyon as you like without worrying about the queue at the entrance each morning.
The hotel had a shuttle bus that ran every 10 minutes to take you from the hotel or camping areas to different locations around the canyon. There is also a grocery store next door so you can buy food supplies - useful to save some money and make sandwiches to take with us for some full days of walking.
We are already planning another visit, and I'm almost certain we will stay at this hotel again.
