Hotel Regencia Colón, Barcelona

Older hotel needing some renovations. However, location is excellent, right around corner from Barcelona Cathedral and easily walkable to main areas.

Very much enjoyed the stay...great service...very helpful staff at front desk. Location was awesome. Good breakfast but could use some variety. Only negative is that the rooms are not very soundproof. Overall hotel was very good. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Regencia Colon. It is located right in the middle of everything it seems. It is a short walk from the Jaume1 metro station and just off the Cathedral square. We enjoyed two great restaurants, one just west of the hotel and the other just north of the hotel. In Barcelona there are lots of other options. It is near the City market, museums and the beaches are a walkable distance. The desk staff is great. We had the fastest checkin ever and staff were there to answer questions 25/7. The room was charming and easy to relax in. The breakfasts were good with a selection of cereals, fruits, sliced meats, cheese and toast. It could be improved with some boiled eggs. There are some services available in the Colon next door such as a restaurant (with a discount on food) and the rooftop lounge. We met some very interesting visitors at that bar from all over the world. Some noise from the square should be expected on weekends but it depends on your room location.

I booked this hotel for a trip half year ago. Later I cancelled the trip, but forgot to cancel the hotel. I just remembered the thing few days ago when I got charged from my credit card. I have never got a reminder email before that. When I book a hotel from booking.com, I always get reminder email a couple of days before the trip.

location is excellent, breakfast starts from 7:00 am, not 8:00 am, the front desk service like 5 stars.
