My Embassy Suites stay

I am extremely unhappy with the experience. I paid for a deluxe king suite and that's not what I got. I requested a special accommodation because I had my niece wedding in Carmel at 4 pm and check in was at 4pm. I spoke with Hotel.com and directly with the hotel. Though no one was able to guarantee it all indicated that if possible it was a reasonable request. I was told by hotel staff that my chances were better if I arrived early. So I arrived at 2pm. Keep in mind that check out is 11am and now I understand that there is only one of this room classification in the entire hotel. Needless to say I missed my niece wedding and was not checked in until after 4pm. Then I was first told that they didn't get the room returned to the hotel until 1:30pm then I was told it was close to 2pm. Regardless it shouldn't take more than 20 or 30 minutes to clean and turn over a room. However they took 2 and 1/2 hours to get this room to me. Let's acknowledge that there is only one of these rooms on the property and there is multiple request made to make this one room available by phone and in person. The hotel staff was cold and insensitive. They spoke politely to me but they were looking right pass me. I have been African American all my life and at 72 years old I know when people are standing behind policy and procedures to denie fair and equal services. At one point the front desk manager in talking with continue to say that she was sorry but. There is more

Booked a suite with a view when we checked in a huge puddle of animal urine was in the carpet, they were willing to switch us rooms but it was a major downgrade and they did not compensate the price. Cleanliness of the new room was a bit uncomfortable. Someone else’s hair was all over the bedding and even around the toilet. Wish I would’ve taken pictures, I was just too tired from traveling I wanted to sleep so I can go home.

Spring break trip

We had been referred to this hotel by a family member with kids, so we knew it was kid and pet friendly. The rooms were a bit dated but clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We thought the location would be closer to the water, it wasn't and the nearest dog friendly beach was a drive, not a walk. The hotel is on a busy corner and the traffic was very noisy all night.We liked the happy hour and the breakfast. Both were free to guests which was great. However, when we ordered food from the resturant to eat in the lounge area, we were told that we couldn't eat there because we had our dog with us. We took the food to our room and they had put 21 (yes 21!) packets of ketcup in our bag for one kid size fries and the wings my husband ordered were not edible. That and being told we had to eat in our room was disappointing. Sorry, but for the price of the room and having to pay to park, we will look at other hotels closer to other amenities and the beach.
