6/10 Good

It was a basic hotel room, I'm wouldn't take a shower/ bath because there was a huge cracking and removal of the coating of the inside of the tub. It didn't look sanitary and looked kinda rusty. Iwish I'd taken a picture. The beds were hard and the balcony door said it only opened 4 inches for safety, but it opened all the way. Service was great, very friendly and inviting. But the room left us with something else to be desired.

Mold on walls
I got in late just needed a bed to sleep in. Everything looked fine to my tired eyes. When I woke up in the morning I noticed all the mold in the bathroom and stains on the carpet

Decent location, under renovation
Its an old hotel currently under renovation so the rooms are pretty outdated and worn. Not the best neighborhood at night but during the day its fine. Right across from small park and original Capitol location. Short walk to a few cute shops and the water. No fast food anywhere in the little downtown which we loved. Uber is quick to deliver there and the capital building is super close. Check with staff about cooling system updates before booking in the summer. Our room was 75 degrees in February and wouldn't cool so we had to leave the balcony door open. In the summer that wouldn't work.

Hotel is in need of update and there was no heat in the lobby. But the room was very clean with a great view of the lake.

You get what you pay for
Ehh - its okay. The water from the shower is wild! It doesn’t matter which direction you turn the handle, it can’t decide! Hot then cold then hot then cold! Wild ride!

Long Way to Go
Someone was smoking marijuana on the 4th floor and stunk up the entire floor. The lights were all unplugged in our room and we had to find the wires and plug them back in. We were only given 1 set of towels and enough bath soap for 1 person. The heat was off in the lobby and breakfast room requiring the front desk clerk to wear a parka while working. There was nobody managing the breakfast area and they ran our of coffee, cream cheese, etc. It looks like Red Lion just bought the establishment, so maybe they can improve the situation, but currently it needs significant improvement.

Moldy druggies
The facility is rundown and shabby. The paint is peeling throughout. Stickers cover scratches in the mirrors in the elevators. There is a smell of mold in the rooms. The parking garage had someone casing cars when I was there. The facility is surrounded by trash, homeless people, and druggies. The bed had a sag in the middle and the sheets were scratchy. I will never stay at this facility again.

Hotel was grand once. Now dated and in need of repair and update. Staff was courteous, room was clean. The historical photos on the lobby wall were beautiful and interesting.

Hotel needs a lot of work
Hotel was in a good location for walking to restaurants and the Washington Performing Arts Center but unfortunately has not been taken care of. The building was very run down throughout- all the furniture in the lobby and room was scuffed/damaged, stains on all the rugs/carpets, curtains missing hooks, piles of garbage (row boat, mattress, etc) in the parking lot. The room seemed clean- bedding and towel in good condition but they had tried to paint the bathtub with regular paint so it was peeling and did not seem usable.

Decent accommodations for a very rundown hotel
this hotel is very conveniently located to both the capital, and the Washington center for performing arts, a couple of restaurants, etc. However, it is quite rundown, dated, and the HVAC system is pretty wonky. For one night stay, it was perfectly fine for me. The front desk staff was very kind, responsive, and accommodating.

Convenient downtown hotel
The hotel fit our needs. Good location for us, quiet, free parking in an urban area, comfortable bed and seating area, coffee in the room.
