Good Location and Noisy
The train noise is unbelievable loud. Location is the best selling point. Recommend to change to soundproof windows.

Poor 2.0
Personality not there.
During our check-in, we where early. I spoke with the front desk advised we where early for check in and if a room was available it would be great as we drove 10 hours through the night. His response to me as do you know what time it is. After that unpleasant experience, I asked for a cot. His response was you have alot going on right now. I would not ask for that. The stay itself was fine. House keeping never came to the room once during our 3 day stay. During checkout I asked to split the bill between 4 people. The manager turned his computer screen to me and said "calculate the split". Zero personality at the location. I will never stay at a Travel Lodge again.

Good value and great location . Nice staff
Older hotel but decent value for the money. Very close to the tours waterfront Soldiers Field etc that I wanted. Be careful parking nearby under the 'L' train - crap falls on your car. Not the hotels fault just a heads up.

A less expensive option that does the job.
As expected. Great location. Check in staff was quick and pleasant. Easy in & out. Building and room are older and dated, but bathroom & beds were clean and comfy.

Fair 4.0
The hotel reminded me of the movie my cousin Vinney Every 5-10 mins subway comes and the whole room is shaking One of the few hotels which use radiator heaters which is fine, BUT also it was cracking all night sounded like somone dropping marbles all night in the radiator enclosure. The windows are so bad you think they’re open but there 100% closed.pillows awful. May be cheaper but personally did not think it came close with value to what you get. Much better deals around.

Great location! But not for light sleepers.
Most parts of our stay were great: the hotel staff were helpful, our room was spacious, and the downtown location was within walking distance of most everything. It was clear that the building was dated, but efforts had been made to update and renovate the room, and it was very clean. However, a big detriment in our stay was the loud mechanical clanking noise that appeared to be coming from the exposed pipes in our room, starting in evening and lasting throughout the night on all 3 nights of our stay. When we called the front desk, we were informed that it was the radiator (not our own, it was off) and nothing could be done. The sudden noises woke us from sleep several times during the night.

Economy choice, get what you pay for
Hotel needs a serious upgrade to rooms. Lobby OK but room had very old windows with tape covering openings/holes - lots of dirt between glass- A/C window unit was just OK - carpet was suspect - better if replaced with hard flooring - would have been better if there was a room fridge - old electrical - no USB, with exposed wiring attached to walls.Lack of variety for eating dinner. Good: staff friendly and accommodating, room was generally clean - bed comfortable. In hotel breakfast place was good and convenient but not open past 3pm. Went economy and it just passed.
