Learn more about Terlingua
Abandoned mercury mines and rugged desert landscapes create a time-capsule atmosphere in this tiny outpost with fewer than 100 residents. The Starlight Theatre Restaurant serves cold beer in the former mining company's entertainment venue. Nearby Big Bend National Park offers spectacular hiking through Santa Elena Canyon where limestone walls tower 1,500 feet above the Rio Grande. Join locals for the legendary November chili cookoff, where competitive cooking becomes performance art. After sunset, the absence of light pollution delivers awe-inspiring star displays. The Barton Warnock Visitor Centre provides orientation for exploring Big Bend Ranch State Park. Bring a flashlight for exploring the ghost town's crumbling structures.

Big Bend Station
"The staff was super friendly and very helpful especially Charlton"
Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa
"The hotel was clean. The property was beautiful. The only downside was that no one let us know. The balcony wasn’t available due to safety reasons we couldn’t. Use the balcony so before you stay, I would definitely call and make sure you’re able to use your balcony because you will get an amazing view if you do have access to the balcony."
Terlingua Ranch Lodge
"Great sweet staff! room is tidy and neat!"
Paisano Village RV Park & Inn
"Stayed 5 nights in the Arroyo room...nice clean room with small microwave and refrigerator...good A/C good wifi...nice big rainfall shower...I liked that the sink is outside the bathroom...liked the nice towels and good toilet paper...little things that make a difference...nice little patio area if you want to sit outside...good location to get to the Park...short drive to restaurants...I really enjoyed my stay here"
Willow House
"Wow. The views alone make Willow House unforgettable, but truly everything about this property is spectacular. The casitas are comfortably spacious, and the private patios are perfect for stargazing into the desert night. The communal main house is wonderfully thought-out, with dedicated fridge and cupboard space for supplies alongside comfortable seating for dining and relaxing. Add in a pool with incredible mountain views and plenty of lounge spots, and it’s the ultimate basecamp for exploring Big Bend National and State Parks. A genuinely special place."
Chisos Mining Co Motel
"Great staff. Rooms were wonderful. Just needed a place to sleep for a night, so great rooms. Only downside is no refrigerator or microwave, but I didn’t have a use for either. I give this hotel a 10/10 rating."
Far Flung Outdoor Center
"After our experience with the teepees, this place is spectacular"
