Fantastic Introduction to Scottish Hospitality
My wife and I stayed at Bankhouse B&B as our first stop of four cities on our Scotland tour. Our plane was delayed and we ended up getting in well after midnight. The host, Eileen was extremely friendly and receptive when we got there. She quietly let us in and gave us the brief tour before asking what time we would have breakfast and wishing us a good night. We unpacked a bit of our belongings into the cozy, clean room (pro-tip: store opened luggage underneath the bed), took our showers in the gorgeous bathroom, and went to sleep on the comfortable beds. We awoke the next morning to a wonderfully prepared breakfast of our choosing, which included my first experience with how different bacon is in this part of the world compared to the USA. Eileen also helped with some recommendations as far as taxis and bus routes go, as well as general recommendations about fun things to do in the area. The gentleman she runs the B&B with was also just as friendly and helpful when we interacted with him. Our room was tidied and refreshed after each day out, and the checkout process was simple as "just leave". Overall a fantastic experience. They do not allow outside food to be brought in and eaten there, I assume to keep things tidy and not have to worry about trash management, and although the town has minimal takeaway options, it would be nice if they did allow takeaway. However, this is a minimal downside to the otherwise great option for staying in Aberlour (pronounced Aberl-hour).

My wife and I were on a 14 day motorcycle trip around Scotland. On a very rainy afternoon we rolled into the Bankhouse B&B and were warmly greeted by the owners. Given a dry place to put our wet bikes and gear and a warm room and beautiful bathroom with a hot shower. Breakfast the next morning was great, followed by Jim breaking out his road atlas to share some great riding tips and stops to make in the area. Jim and Eileen are avid motorcyclists with a great collection of vintage bikes. We really appreciated the suggestions while staying a few nights at their place. It was immaculately clean and had the warmest welcome. Would highly recommend staying here. Thanks!

2/10 Poor

Travel delays
We ran unto a lost bag situation at the airport which delayed our departure from the airport to the hotel. We called to let them know we were going to be late and they said ok. We got lost on the way which delayed us and we tried to call to tell them but no answer. When we arrived they had left a note they had left. No call to us and they did not pick up or call us back. We ended up at a different hotel all together down the street who picked up the phone and had available. What a rough day - made worse by non-communication from the folks there.

Everything was immaculate. Fresh. Super clean. Nice styling. Bedding was lovely. Towels were lovely. Try the yoghurt and home made compote for breakfast. Cooked items very high standard. Owners bright and cheerful. I cannot fault it in any way.

Very nice property, interior is all brand new. Please note, pay attention to the message. The owner sends you before you arrive so they know what time to meet you. Wonderfully cooked breakfast in the morning, everything was as advertised.

Fantastic B&B with excellent hosts.
We had a wonderful stay at Bankhouse B&B. The hosts Eileen and Jimmy were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they recommended lots of places to visit and eat. The bedroom and bathroom are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, my husband loved the duvet so much he wants to buy one. Breakfast was outstanding, perfectly cooked with high quality ingredients. We will definitely return. Thank you both for making our weekend extra special.

First Class
the accomodation and the owners were faultless, my only issue was I arrived after 7.30pm in the evening and having nothing to eat since breakfast , Tried to get a hot meal , on a very cold and windy evening. I was told by the owners that you were not allowed take-away food in the B&B - so this rulled out the chinese takeaway - as it was not realistic to eat it outside , the two local bar resturants stopped serving at 8 and i arrived in the first one at 2 minutes past and they said no , try the next and the cook had gone home , needless to say i got no Hot food that night - just a stale sandwich and scotch egg fro the local shop - which i had to eat on the street- but the breakfast was brilliant the next morning - advice dont arrive late or expect to eat a take-away (this was a first for me and would have been very helpful to know this at time of booking - yet again cant fault anything else - hence the score
