For starters, the staff need to be commended for their service in the front of house. Truly a welcoming environment, especially with a fast check-in. Overall the hotel is nice. Rooms are dated and in need of a renovation on carpet/wall treatments/furniture. this was evident in the bed I had which, while I enjoy a firm bed, this one felt so well used, I could hear the springs compressing as I sat on the edge of the bed. Location is wonderful and near rail lines, a short walk from Union Station, and a shorter walk to Michigan Ave. If you are in need of a room for a night and not focused on pure comfort, this is perfect.
