Stay was excellent. The only challenging thing was the long long queues to order meals. There are only two cash registers and staff taking both the dinner and drink orders. They make the drinks on the spot so each order takes a very long time. You can easily stand for 15 mins waiting to order your meal Best to have a separate register for food or take the food and drinks order and deliver to the table when ready The current system is frustrating

This was the ideal place to stay as a jumping off point for exploring the Great Ocean Road. We also loved the beach culture and dining options in Torquay. Rooms were comfortable, although the beds we had were soft and in need of replacement. Nonetheless, we had lots of room and a good view of the golf course. Didn’t get a chance to play this time but enjoyed sitting on the deck and kangaroo watching. Restaurant and bar were decent and had good variety. Staff was extremely helpful. Pool was a bit too crowded for my liking but I understand that community use is helpful to cover operating costs. The nearby beach was wonderful and I used that to get my swims in. Overall, a very nice stay!

We had a good stay at the Sands. The room was clean and simple, and the staff was very friendly during check-in and check-out. There is easy parking, and it is right on the golf course if you want to shoot a few rounds. It is a few minutes' drive into the main streets of Torquay and the beach.

We enjoyed our long weekend at The Sands. We stayed in a family room on the ground floor, golf course side. Having two inter connecting rooms was spacious and gave the kids their own bathroom. We enjoyed the facilities, including the pool and tennis courts. We also walked to the beach for a swim. The restaurant’s food was delicious and it was so handy walking to the restaurant for drinks and dinner. The staff were lovely. The rooms were calm and inviting, tastefully decorated in a coastal theme. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept well. We will definitely be back!
