Our room was clean and tidy, so no complaints, but I had paid for an upgrade, but to be honest it appeared to be just a standard room. The food in the restaurant was average and my rump steak was sent back as it was full of gristle. Very disappointing. The bar closed at 10.30pm, which was very surprising for a midweek night (not a Sunday). The carpets along the corridors definitely needed cleaning. I was under the impression that this was a 4* hotel, but it fell short in my opinion. However, I could not fault the staff. They were very friendly, helpful and polite.

Hotel room was pretty basic, clean and smelt freshly clean. Was able to have an early check in which was handy as we’d been travelling hours. We didn’t use the spa/gym facilities. We did eat in the restaurant, would recommend booking as gets busy of an evening. Food was pleasant and the server was really friendly and nice. Wouldn’t recommend staying here during the heatwave and there’s no air con in the room, the heat in our bedroom was unbearable. We had a ground floor room but the windows have a safety lock so could only open a jar.. not enough fresh air along side a little fan blowing warmth around the room. We were tempted to sleep in the hall way it was that hot.

Extremely good experience at Horwood House. Everything from the greeting at reception to housekeeping was faultless. Stayed in a deluxe king room which was as expected but above all, very clean and well maintained. Would stay again if in the area. We would highly recommend this hotel. We had a very comfortable, relaxing stay. Breakfast was plentiful and all freshly cooked. Our room was spacious, and very close to the spa, late afternoon swims and relaxing in the sauna and steam room was a luxury. We ate each evening in the dining room lots of choice, staff were very attentive and food was delicious.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The staff were exttremely helpful and kind. The grounds tk the hotel was absolutely stunning and staff really made this stay special for my wife's birthday. When we arrived they were kind in upgrading us. The food here was excellent, in particular the roast on Sunday. The spa was also excellent, it was very quiet most of the time and it has a great pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, all of which are included in the price of the room. We had an amazing stay and will come back. Thank you, everyone for a great stay.
