We were forewarned by other travellers on the internet that the hotel was situated next to a railway and that there would be some noise, so we brought earplugs. However, the earplugs didn't really work, so we did suffer some noise in the night. The hotel is literally next to the railway - I could have leaned out of the window and just about touched the trains. They were noisy, but critically, the rails are continuously welded rails - so that the trains don't go 'clickety-clack' - they just go 'zhoom.' I found the closeness of the trains comedic and oddly comforting (I like trains), but I guess that other travellers could get a bit annoyed.
We didn't sleep especially well, but then this is a cheap hotel. The room was clean (we stayed with two adults - and two children in a bunk bed - the upper bunk did not have a side on it, so that it was actually dangerous - you could easily have fallen out) and the breakfast was adequate. To be honest, given the choice, I wouldn't stay there again (but it was adequate for the quite cheap price). It was a benchmark for all the other hotels we stayed at on our trip!
