Best part. Next to Iron Ridge Restaurant we where had a good time. Stayed here many times over the years and after owner change has gone down hill. Our room hair dryer didn't work. Other rooms we had booked were not cleaned. Was a downer.

I did have a late check in due to being tired and a late decision. It was the only available hotel at that late hour. Check in was ok. Going to the entrance in the back was not adequately lit and couldn't find the rear door. When entering the room is was not a mess but the odor of pee and must was there. Bedding was clean but the pillows had an odor. I was only there to rest a couple hours .

I enjoyed the pool area. Was thankful they had a hot tub because I woke up so stiff that I had a hard time moving around. I used the hot tub for about a half hour before I got in the shower to get ready for the day. While not completely uncomfortable, the bed wasn't the best.

Iron Ridge is a quiet little town. Shop for essentials at a convenience store. Motel owners were eager to meet our needs. The view from our windows was of pine trees, gardens and grass...not sterile paved parking lots. The pool was large and clean. The single train passing in the night was very loud, but quickly passed. We felt relaxed and refreshed after our stay.

Housekeeping

Always a quiet, comfortable place to stay, but the ball got dropped on housekeeping in the room i had this stay. There was leftover takeout left in the refrigerator so it's obvious that wasn't cleaned. Not really a big deal, but kind of a big deal. Also the bathtub had a used bar of soap on top of the surround, so that wasn't cleaned very well either. It's little things but little things add up. This is the first time I have had issues and definitely will stay again. It could have been an off day.

This is a cool little retreat out in the sticks so if you're looking to get away from the fast life this is a great place to stay! Everyone was nice at check in. Our room was ok, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either! We had the hottub suite and for the price we can't complain really. We wanted a late check out and beings that I'm a Platinum Hotels.com member I thought it forsure would have been ok but it was denied which was frustrating considering we didn't check in until late the night before! The suite was out dated and could use a lot of upgrades, they didn't do the greatest job cleaning and the towels were all stained! Overall I'd give it a 2/5
