History buffs will love St. Donatus Church's circular walls and Byzantine mosaics in marble-paved squares. The Sun Salutation disc creates a magical light show at sunset along the waterfront promenade. Traditional konobas serve fresh Adriatic seafood while artisan shops sell handmade jewellery and Croatian wines from medieval stone buildings. The car-free area is perfect for wandering honey-colored streets that open onto spacious squares. Boutique hotels in converted historic palaces offer authentic stays with original architectural elements.

Borik
Borik serves up beachy perfection along Zadar's stunning Adriatic coastline. Crystal-clear waters lap against pebble beaches where you can soak up the Croatian sunshine all day. Pine-shaded walking paths wind along the waterfront, offering dreamy sunset views that'll have your social media followers swooning. Resort life rules here with plenty of pools, water sports, and coastal relaxation. Hotels dominate this seaside haven with upscale amenities and international dining options. Getting around is a breeze—you can walk everywhere within the resort area or catch a 15-minute bus ride into Zadar's historic centre. Beach bars and hotel terraces provide laid-back evening vibes for watching the sun melt into the Adriatic.
Arbanasi
Arbanasi offers a peaceful escape from Zadar's tourist crowds with its traditional Mediterranean charm. Stone houses with red-tiled roofs line quiet streets that lead to rocky Adriatic beaches. Kolovare Beach is just steps away, perfect for swimming in crystal-clear waters. Albanian cultural influences are visible in the older buildings, giving this 18th-century settlement its unique character. Family-run konobas serve fresh seafood and regional specialties in this authentic area. Private apartments and guesthouses provide intimate accommodations with genuine Croatian hospitality. While public transportation is limited, the walk into central Zadar rewards you with beautiful coastal views and a glimpse of local life.

Knež
Knež gives you a genuine peek into everyday Croatian life away from tourist hotspots. This peaceful residential area offers a chance to slow down and experience authentic local routines. The neighborhood's tree-lined streets and mix of modern homes with traditional stone houses create a charming backdrop for morning strolls and evening walks. Getting around requires some planning as public transport is limited. Small family-run konobas serve delicious home-style Croatian dishes at reasonable prices. Most visitors stay in private apartments where friendly hosts often share local insights and sometimes even breakfast.

Learn more about Zadar
Along the seafront promenade, the Sea Organ plays haunting melodies created by waves pushing air through underwater pipes. Nearby, the Sun Salutation captures daylight and creates a mesmerizing light show after sunset. Roman ruins stand alongside medieval churches in this ancient walled city, where history feels casually abundant. The Cathedral of St. Anastasia towers over narrow limestone streets that open suddenly into sunny squares. Duck into the Museum of Ancient Glass to see delicate Roman artifacts displayed with surprising wit. After exploring Zadar's old town, join locals at sunset when they gather by the sea. The Times didn't call this the "entertainment centre of the Adriatic" for nothing.

Hotel Delfin
"A lovely place with friendly staff. Very clean room and literally steps from the beach. The only thing that could have improved it would have been a kettle in the room, although they were happy to provide hot water from the kitchen when I asked. Convenient bus stop rifht outside.Would absolutely return! We hired the exiles too, fun."
Hotel Mediteran
"A great hotel with nice pool and shop across the road, easy nice walk around the bay that takes you to the water taxi which takes you old town for 8 euro return"
Hotel A'mare
"My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and informative. Our room was beautiful, especially the bathroom. We were impressed with the towel warmer. The window balcony was an added bonus! The restaurant is absolutely stunning. We were shocked with how amazing the breakfast buffet was!! Out of all of our travels so far, this hotel and it's breakfast is one of our favourites! The doors to your room are very unique. They light up in different ways to inform housing keeping if you're in the unit or not. It's in a great location, near old Town Zadar, Kolovare beach and beautiful restaurants/Cafe bars. The area surrounding the hotel is a little beat down and old, but safe! If you love cats as much as I do, you will encounter them in the surrounding area. When checking out of the hotel and leaving for the airport, they do have a luggage storage room if you have some time before check out and your flight. We found this very resourceful and considerate. "Close to the airport and a 5 minute drive to old town Zadar. Everything easy. Ok breakfast. Basic hotel and serves its purpose. The top and bra left in our closet from the previous guest was a nice touch. Didn’t fit any of us though."
Falkensteiner Hotel Adriana l Adults Only
"This is a hotel with a wondeful atmosphere and delicious food. The rooms were spacious and stylishly finished. The rest of the hotel could do with some TLC in parts"
Miramare Hotel Zadar
"This is a lovely hotel about a 15 minute walk to the old town of Zadar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was exceptional. The personal touch from the owner, who was around at breakfast every day, was appreciated."
