Sep 13, 2026We absolutely loved our stay at the George Hotel! The historic property is filled with character, and the staff are all warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed a great breakfast in the pub downstairs. The town of Hayfield is also delightful and a great place to stay within Peaks. Highly recommend!

Sep 6, 2026Used for an overnight stop-over, Marston’s Pub menu, food was very reasonably priced and good choice for breakfast too. Room clean and comfortable. The staff were all fantastic, everybody was so friendly and helpful.

Sleeping conditions could be improved by addition of something closer to blackout curtains on the large window - much light from street in the room through the night.

Cooked breakfast was good, served hot and good value for money. Teas and coffees are at extra cost but overall still very competitively priced compared with chain hotels. A very enjoyable stay.

We stopped overnight on a hike and was a great place to stay, good selection of beers. Breakfast was good and very well priced. Would certainly stay here again.
