10/10 Exceptional
This is a fantastic homestay location, and called "resort hotel in Thumboly" by some of the local auto drivers. I booked this on an impulse travel through hotels dot com website and fully enjoyed my stay.
The owner (Mr. George) and the manager Mr. Shibu were prompt with communication and helpful. Mr. Shibu spoke to the auto driver via my phone call and guided him correctly. Google maps does a solid job too.
Location is about 4ish km from Alappuzha railway station and about 2km from main restaurants so having a vehicle helps or you have to use on call autos and wait 10mins sometimes. Fine with me on a vacation.
For other activities around town (boating tours, etc), do independent research also to get best prices. I have already recommended this place to my friends and hope to back there.
Room was comfortable, good ac, enough storage, even a locker was there. Good solid shower, spacious bathroom. Wonderful verandah.
There are two lounging chairs, a kiddies pool addition and a shower next to the pool, both to rinse off sweat before getting in and rinse off afterward.
Pls note that the swimming pool is great imo, but because of being in a natural area with trees around, occasional ants, etc may be around. Just be aware that in tropical climate more biodiversity is around you, all the time.
I had a fabulous time. There are some hammocks but be careful that one almost goes to the ground..haha.
