Sep 7, 2026Can't be beat - it's quiet enough if you have the fan running, clean, and cheap relative to all the other motels on the island with comfy enough beds that you can sleep well before you go on an overnight sea kayaking adventure.

Aug 31, 2026Great value stay and within walking distance to Friday Harbor downtown area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Clean room and despite being small, it is exactly as advertised.

Sep 7, 2026Room was relatively small and minimalistic, but very well maintained. You could tell that they take pride in the display and care of their rooms when their guests arrive. Check-in and check-out were super easy and friendly. There was plenty of parking and the location was very walkable. Next time I find myself in Friday Harbor, I will definitely look into staying here again!

Sep 19, 2026The Orca Inn was definitely a Budget option, but it was perfectly adequate. The room was small, but clean. I would say it was a “no frills” accommodation, but it was convenient to town and a fantastic bakery (Bakery San Juan) nesrby. If all you need is a clean place with a comfortable bed, this is a great option. But don’t expect more.

Aug 24, 2026The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the air conditioner was perfect as a white noise generator as well as room cooler. Building 2 has the quietest rooms.

Sep 15, 2026Jess was very helpful and kind. She changed our rooms so my friend and I could be next to each other instead of in different buildings. Excellent service. Thank you!

Aug 24, 2026Despite being an older property, the room was well maintained and clean. The room was very small, but we expected that based on other reviews and the size wasn’t an issue for our two night stay. The property is also just a 3 minute drive from town. Good for a quick getaway!

Jul 28, 2026We enjoyed our stay here. The place is only a few minutes walk to Friday Harbor and close to Roche Harbor on the north side of the island. Although they didn’t serve breakfast, they had coffee available in the office plus across the street is Bakery San Juan which serves great meals.

Jul 30, 2026This hotel has tiny rooms just as advertised. They were perfect for those of us who spend most of our day exploring and having fun! At night we felt safe and secure and very comfortable!

Jul 6, 2026Great no-frills room a short walk from Friday Harbor with friendly and helpful staff. The beds could use a headboard though! A nice budget option on an island that tends to have expensive lodging.

Jul 10, 2026Room is small, but was aware of that prior to making the reservation. Affordable and convenient to walking into town. Very clean accommodations. Just wish there was a coffee maker in the room.

Jun 26, 2026Staff is amazing and friendly. Stored our bags before checkin and after checkout while we were cycling the island and they had a convenient bike rack for us to lock our bikes to. Rooms are small but clean and neat. Can’t beat the price.

Jun 1, 2026The rooms are NY style, meaning they are small. But they were perfect for just the two of us, especially because we are shorter. The location was nice and away from things. Since we mainly used it just to sleep, this perfectly met our needs. Nice staff. Rooms were clean. Showers were hot. Each room had its own hot water, which was a nice feature.

Jun 21, 2026Older place but was very clean and the bed was comfortable, which is all I needed. Excellent price for the area. I was overjoyed to find something in my budget and close to the ferry since I needed to book last minute and didn’t have a car. There is also a grocery store right next door that is cheaper than the ones on the main strip.
The lady at check in was very nice and helpful with everything. Even though they don’t have “bell service” she let me store my luggage in a secure area after check out so I didn’t have to find a locker in town during my whale watch.
Seemed like the place was getting some upgrades under the new management. I look forward to seeing them next time I come to Friday Harbor!

Jul 11, 2026The hotel is a collection of modular buildings, like trailers. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the TV from the room next door in our room.
The bedding was good and clean. The bathroom is old but clean. The carpets need cleaning and they need blackout curtains. The blinds are ridiculous. The glare from the sun was so bright on the TV, we couldn’t even see the screen.
The manager is gruff and unfriendly.

Jun 7, 2026Orca Inn is clean, cozy and comfortable walking distance (half-mile) into central Friday Harbor.
We were substantially delayed by a ferry service problem from the mainland (one of the larger vessels had to be taken out of service) when we were unable to reach the Inn by phone despite repeated attempts. Against all odds, we managed to catch one last midnight sailing and arrived at the Inn at 2 a.m., to be instantly greeted at the front desk and into the room right away. Thanks!
