Good location. value for money. however, the main entrance will be locked late night and sometimes the receptionist is sleeping and couldn't hear the bell. Other than that, everything else quite standard for the price.
Overall a good day. Initially unsure of the location because it is a cafe on the downstairs but check in went smoothly. People were enjoying the cafe downstairs.
The private room was good. Bed comfortable and clean. The only thing was the shower I felt I needed to wear slippers and the shower head holder was a little loose so the shower head moved.
The manager was very nice and helped with writing locations in Thai and gave some tips. You can tell he works hard.
Great location vey near BTS the sky train which is in my opinion the best way to get around. Also very near, a few doors down is Dean and Delucca and some other restaurants. Which is a nice breakfast treat if you're looking for some pastries etc. also this location is the outskirts of Silom which had night life, shopping, streets and lots of good food. It is walkable to get to the popular areas but far enough so it's not an issue.
I was late arrival due to flight delays, arrived and rang the bell for entry. Young man who answered spoke no English but was able to find paperwork and he did help me with my luggage to a second floor room. Room looked clean but after he left I found a large, dead roach on the floor, spiders in the bed and several gnats flying around. Bathroom was surface clean but there was mold in the shower grout, window was stuck open so I closed the door.
AC unit took 40 minutes to cool the room down to a comfortable level. Finally fell asleep about 4AM.
I was awakened at 8AM (Sunday) by construction noise on a room on the next floor. It was like they were coming through the ceiling! When I looked out of my door I could see the trail of dust and debris going up the stairs to the next level. Since I knew I would not be able to sleep I simply got dressed and went out to breakfast, exploring the area and exchanging my money for Baht. Returned just in time to check out!
This is a good hotel for its budget/price. It reminds me of English Inns. Family run small hotel with restaurant at the street level. Providing decent hotel accommodations. I found the WiFi very poor and frustrating. But overall is manageable. I will certainly go there again for its budget price and location. It is a few steps from the metro. It is a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok. You can run and get your fix of Bangkok and comeback to this place to get your equilibrium!
Hotel has new owner, very nice woman. The hotel is undergoing renovation so not totally fair to review an unfinished product. I do wish that they still served breakfast but you have to go out for that. Luckily there's a kettle in the room for coffee and tea.
Om Yim is a small cosy guesthouse with friendly and helpful personell and finely situated very close to the skytrain station Chong Nonsi, so you can take train and skytrain directly from the airport Subvarnabhumi. I have stayed here several times before and may do so also in the future.
A/C wasn't working. I changed the room. A/C was on the bed and couldn't sleep at all. No elevator. Managed badly. Reception mostly empty. Wifi works slowly. Not comfortable bed. Best thing is hotel across of the sky train.
