My husband and I stayed at the Hilton for the majority of our trip, then made our way to the Round Rock at the end so we could save a little money and see a different side of the island. It's not the Hilton, but it is an excellent hotel for the cost. It was clean, very close to the beach, and a short drive to food/tourist areas.
If you're staying here, you may want to rent a car since food & tourist attractions are not within walking distance. There is a Kitchen in the room, so if you don't get a car, you can always grocery shop & cook. Personally, that is not my style. I rather experience the local food and environment than waste time in my room cooking.
With that said, restaurants in Barbados can be pricey ($25+ US a plate or $10 US per drive through meal). We were spending $240+ a day on food (for 2 of us) so we only ate at sit down restaurants for the first couple of days, then we found that we could get great street food at the St Lawrence Gap everyday after 6pm for a fraction of the cost.
The SL Gap is a 5 min drive from Hotel, & there is plenty of free parking if you go there early. The nicer, calmer beaches like Accra Beach, Pebbles Beach ect are about a 7-8 min from hotel too.
If you like hot showers, shower Early. In the evening (even at the Hilton) the water gets cold but I didn't seem to have a problem in the morning/afternoon.
Although we didn't have any problems keeping track of our things, a safe would be a nice addition to this hotel.
