Canyanel is not a usual destination for the British tourist, we have just completed two weeks at the Castell Royal Universal, whilst the staff are friendly and accommodating there lack or willingness to converse in English is a stark contrast to their willingness to speak in German, French and Swiss, clearly we were not welcome. The beds in this reported 4 star hotel are firm, not what we expected of a 4 star hotel The food is good and their is sufficient variety to suit all palettes, the Entertainment consists of good quality external acts 4 nights a week, there is on one night Bingo it is at a cost per card but their are enough prizes keeps it interesting but still fun. The other nights consist of music from the entertainment rep personnel music collection, but all personal song requests are generally met .Be warned the bars close at midnight on the dot so not a party place. Canyamel is a nice place there are caves near by but we didn't venture to far from the I hotel and beach. Would we go back to Canyanel yes, if we wanted a quite location with a nice beach, if you are planning on going try and contact the hotel well in advance of your trip and book a poolside sunlounge chair, you do have to pay but at least your set for the stay and you don't have to battle with our EU cousins for a space in the garden area
