Wonderful stay

It was fantastic. We stayed 3 nights, but would have loved to stay longer. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. The chef at the place is amazing and very kind as well. Therefore we strongly recommend eating dinner at the guesthouse. At last the room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view.

The owner (Sabrina) is very kind and helpful. Communication with her was very quick and easy. Very clean and good located. Many restaurants down the street. Close to the beach in Le Morne (5‘ by car). Breakfast was good, they had delicious bread! You can have dinner there, but the communication with the cook is a bit complicated.

When we first arrived we were surprised that the room was not ready even though we gave a notice beforehand of our time of arrival. Anyhow, our room type was upgraded which was a nice plus right in the beginning. We had lovely time in this accomodation and would definitely recommend to stay here. Staff and owners are extremely nice and friendly, breakfast is great and you can choose to have a dinner as well for a small fee (food is 10x better than in any nearby restaurant). Location is great, less than 5min walk to a road where you can grab a bus to get around. If you want to feel like home while traveling, go to happy days guest house!

We absolutely loved our stay at Happy Days Guesthouse in La Gaulette and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The guesthouse has such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. Its location is excellent, with a great variety of restaurants and shops all within walking distance, which made everything very convenient. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, with plenty of room to feel comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having a balcony to relax on. It’s worth noting that there is no lift, only stairs, but this didn’t take away from our experience. The staff were truly wonderful. They were so warm and welcoming and made the whole place feel like home. We genuinely didn’t want to leave. Breakfast each morning was a highlight, with delicious fresh seasonal fruit and a French baguette that we simply couldn’t get enough of. The guesthouse is also ideally located for exploring, with beautiful beaches just a short drive away and many must-see spots in the southwest of Mauritius nearby. Overall, a fantastic stay in a lovely guesthouse. We would definitely recommend it.

Das Guesthouse ist einfach eingerichtet, aber dafür mit viel Stil. Am Morgen gibt es ein kleines, aber sehr leckeres Frühstück, danach ist die Gastgeberin gern behilflich, wenn man einen Tip oder Kontakt benötigt. Der Service ist wirklich herausragend, Hinsichtlich Pool und Fitness waren die Erwartungen durch die Beschreibungen höher. Machte aber nichts, braucht man auf Mauritius eigentlich nicht.

Good Stay near Le Morne und Tamarin

Zimmer großzügig geschnitten mit schöner Aussicht auf das Wasser, Mobiliar in die Jahre gekommen. Auf unserem Balkon im 1. Stock Zimmer 7 nur eine Bank zum Sitzen. Frühstück für unsere Verhältnisse und im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels auf Mauritius nicht ausreichend. Lage gut zum Le Morne und Tamarin (20min) und nach Chamarel (10min). Auf Anfrage zum Frühstück wird von Gregory Abendessen gekocht, was sehr sehr gut sein soll (wir haben es nicht getestet). Gutes Netzwerk hinsichtlich Kontakte für Aktivitäten. Insgesamt eher Eindruck eines AirBnBs statt eines Hotels, aber mit sehr familiärem Charakter.

Diese Unterkunft ist einfach toll! Die Gastgeber sind der Wahnsinn, man fühlt sich wie zuhause. Man hat alle möglichen Sehenswürdigkeiten in direkter Nähe, Chamarel, Le Morne Berg, Gorges Park, ein Supermarkt ist direkt um die Ecke. Nous avons passé 9 jours au guest house happy days. Les propriétaires Sabrina et Jean -Pierre sont très accueillants, disponibles, à l’écoute et nous ont aidées pour la réalisation de nos activités durant notre séjour. Les chambres sont spacieuses et très propres. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Il y a la possibilité de dîner sur place certains soirs: nous nous sommes régalées. Je recommande vivement cet endroit car l’accueil et la générosité des propriétaires ont dépassé nos espérances.

Guesthouse conviviale façon « Auberge Espagnole » où l’accueil est primordial : quel bel état d’esprit des propriétaires, toujours prêts à vous conseiller et à vous trouver des solutions pour tout. Et en toute simplicité. Petit dej frais et très bon, chambres spacieuses et modernes, lits king size, et juste à côté d’un supermarché et de 2/3 bons restos. Un seul mini bémol, les chiens du quartier qui aboient durant la nuit, mais ça, le guesthouse n’y peut absolument rien. Séjour dont on se souviendra, rien que pour la gentillesse des hôtes !
