Great hotel location
I stayed at the hotel for a week. when I arrived at the hotel around 2:00 pm, the room was available. The room was actually smaller than the one in the photos. The bathroom was serviceable. There was plenty of hot water to use. Due to the size of the bathroom sink and the shelf, there was not enough room to wash my face. The complementary breakfast was wonderful. I loved the scrambled egg and bacon in particular. The staff was friendly. I loved the location of the hotel, steps away from the Duomo. There are bus stops in front of the hotel for some routes. I had a great stay at the hotel. I Would stay there again.

Great value. Super breakfast.
Great location. Great price. Transportation so easy to get around. Fantastic restaurants, cafes, gelato and bakeries close by… and the breakfast at the hotel was really good. It had everything to start the day, including espresso, cappuccino, croissants, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, juice, granola, cereal, bread, cheese, tomatoes. Our room was a little bit noisy because the tram stop was on the street. So if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room that is quiet. My husband slept like a rock, but I had trouble sleeping. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Right next to the duomo for easily getting around. The bed was so uncomfortable but was fine enough for a solo trip, no frills.

The only good thing was the location. Nothing worked in my room, AC did not work, even after telling the front desk no action was taken. Too loud as the tram is right in front of the hotel. The best thing was the location and that’s pretty much it.

I stayed in Milan at Hotel Rio for 2 nights. I am a young, female, solo traveller and I chose this hotel for its central location and convenient walking distance to all local sites, which makes me feel safer especially walking back in the evenings/dark. The location also made it easier to go back to the hotel during the day to drop things off. I booked a single bed room and got upgraded to a double bed room on arrival at no extra cost, which was a perk. I liked how breakfast was included and the rooms were clean and had everything you would need like a safe, fridge, toiletries etc. If I re-visit Milan, I will definitely stay here again and would recommend!

In a great location and a good simple breakfast with great coffee. Rooms are very outdated and bathroom cold, old and terrible shower. The noise from outside was the worst anywhere I’ve stayed in the world.

Location and staff are welcoming, helpful, and kind. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night and left early so we did not get to have breakfast. It smelled amazing, though! This is an older, quaint hotel in an incredible location by the Cathedral. Would have given higher rating, but our room was a tad dusty and we were on a smoking floor.

I stayed at Hotel Rio at the beginning of the year January 2024 and it was winter and the room i booked is for a single person. The air-con was working fine and it was cold as I preferred. So I decided to book here again when I came last week with my friend but we barely slept as the room is very hot even if the setting for the air-con is correct. It is still blowing hot air, same if it is sunny, winter or rain setting. It is not as cold as it was in the previous room I stayed in. What is odd is the receptionist said it is due to its winter and will always blow hot air. Second receptionist advise we weren't setting it properly and getting frustrated in explaining how we were setting this. The air-con at the reception is way colder than it is in the room. They did not even bother going into the room to check and fix this. We asked for a fan and they did not even have this facility. Regardless of what season it is, customer should be able to choose their preferences on whether they want it cold or hot. Other than that, hotel is convenient as it’s in central.

Pleasant and helpful staff , specially Jimmy. Stayed here for 4 nights . Breakfast was pretty good, it gets crowded at times, Room and bathroom are spacious . Area is just about 150 or less steps to Basilica and Galleria. Some noisy from the tram , but does not bother us at all . Recommended.

Before I booked this hotel, I read all positive reviews, but unfortunately it wasnt the case for me. I found the staff not friendly at all. The room was not clean, and the bathroom very dark and outdated. The only positive wa it was close to the Duomo and the Galleria. Would never stay there again!!!

The area is second to none. Right outside is the Duomo. But the hotel is not great. The rooms get a surface clean at best, the beds are really hard and difficult to sleep on and the halls stank of cigarette smoke. If you're planning on being out all day and just need somewhere central to rest your head at night, then you will probably be fine. But expect the very basic.

This Hotel was right in the heart of Milan perfect for walking and seeing all the sites . Close to restaurants and bars. Hotel itself is small but good for a short stay. Having only one small elevator cause some difficulties.Breakfast was good but eating area very small and food selection minimal . Coffee was good

This place is a great place to stay at. I really enjoyed it here. The front desk women were so helpful and kind. They need a raise 😂The owner was there the next morning as well helping others. Super comfy and great place. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the duomo area.
