You see José’s dedication to keeping the place clean and tidy and you can see him walking around feeding the animals and treating the vines. They have a nice bar with a few options including their own award-winning wine, which we very much enjoyed. Personally it was also nice to stay in a black owned business that looks and feels amazing! "Quinta Nova is a beautiful Quinta in spectacular surroundings. It is very comfortable and the service is impeccable - probably the best welcome of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The restaurant was also excellent - with enough choice for 3 fabulous meals even though the menu didn’t change during our 3 night stay. The walking trail around the vineyards is superb and a real highlight of our stay. "
"Exceptional family owned and run property; Luis and Zulmira could not be better hosts. They were warm and engaging tending to any request during the three nights we were there.
Breakfast was excellent, with many choices, and the common areas are well decorated and very comfortable.
The room we had was large, and well laid out with a comfortable chair, desk & writing chair, built in wardrobe, and a balcony.
One night we had Luis prepare a traditional dinner for us, which we enjoyed very much. We also found an excellent local rosé to go with dinner; we were able to stop by the winery and pick some up the next day.
Overall an exceptional property, made better by the owners and everyone associated with them.
We will definitely book this property again when we return to Portugal.
