. However the rooms are terrible! We paid extra for a deluxe room but it was incredibly old and dirty. We arrived to find an empty can of drunk Pepsi in the bathroom and vape wrappers by the safe. The room wasn’t cleaned deeply. We did get an apology from both the cleaners and reception but feel this shouldn’t have been missed had the room been cleaned properly in the first place. The ceiling is also rotting away...

"We booked 2 superior rooms, we got one at the 1st floor and second of the 2nd floor. very good rooms, big and clean. However, the Internet in both rooms was very poor, disconnected every few minutes, we could not use it.
The location of the hotel is great for day tours at cities around with good access to the highway.
The pool is relatively small, but nice, the breakfast is good but with no variety.
Overall stay was good at reasonable price.
We will definitely choose this hotel again if you...

"I really liked this hotel. The breakfast was amazing, pastries, yogurt, eggs to order. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. Our train had problems, and we did not arrive in Syracusa till midnight. The hotel put us in touch with a cab driver who met us at the station, and the hotel staff checked us in late. They also helped arrange a boat tour around the island. The room was a good size, and comfortable and clean."

The breakfast was very good. One in our group needed dairy free/vegan. They were better than most places, and there was a section identified on the menu, but she thought the options were limited. In the evenings/night it was absolutely quiet outside. We took the Interbus to/from Taormina bus station, for 1.90 euros. It stops right in front of Villa Sonia Hotel ! Castelmola is an interesting community with many shops and restaurants. We took the walking trail down to Taormina"
