Downtown location is perfect for visitors. Hotel has some age but is maintained well. Clean. Some hallway noise. Breakfast is a 4 out of 5. Area feels safe.

8/10 Very Good

The hotel was wonderful. We were upgraded to a loft suite which was big and had a super comfortable bed. Everyone we interacted with was very kind and polite - front desk staff, housekeepers, and wait staff. The breakfast buffet was delicious! The only downside was that the walls were quite thin - we could clearly hear people in the neighbouring room talking late into the night and listening to music.

6/10 Good

Good location/some bad service&room condition.
We really liked the location of the hotel—very convenient. Upon arrival, a female staff member kindly helped us store our luggage before check-in. However, when we returned to check in, the male front desk staff member who assisted us lacked basic customer service skills. He spoke loudly about my personal information in front of other guests, showing no regard for confidentiality. His communication was also unprofessional, with poor polite English skills for asking questions or explaining their processes to customers. From the beginning, he didn’t greet us or smile, and when he requested my credit card, he didn’t offer any explanation, even though we had already paid online. When I asked him about it, his response was short and dismissive. Overall, it was not a good first impression. Additionally, when we entered the hotel room, there was an unpleasant musty, grassy, or greasy odor that lingered for over a day. The room size was fine for us, and the other staff members were polite, but I’m not sure I would want to stay here again.

Not thrilled with this hotel. Would not stay here
The hotel was far from full. We asked for a nicer room, and they told us we would have to pay an additional $50 which we declined. They could have easily accommodated us. The room curtains were shabby. There was a pipe you could see under the washroom counter, which was coated in mounds of dust. Parts of the washroom doors were peeling. The free breakfast was very nice and the location of the hotel was great.

Perfect for families
We booked last minute for a weekend for the Royal Victoria Marathon. The room was massive and perfect for a family. The service was outstanding. So friendly and accomodating- we checked out the day of the marathon and they couldnt offer late checkout so they set up designated rooms for people returning from the race to shower.

It was a very comfortable room. But as a person who is anaphylactic to all nuts, the open jar of peanut butter at breakfast was quite stressful.

Great location/Older Hotel
Excellent location for walking around downtown Victoria. Very good breakfast. It’s an older building so water temperature for showers wasn’t consistent and you hear noisy pipes when others are using their bathroom. The tv channels from the guide didn’t work and very limited channels with no access to a guide. No one could help us with this.

Would highly recommend!
Probably one of the best hotel experiences we have had! We upgraded to get a harbour view and a loft. We also asked to have a balcony ahead of time! Well worth it. The location was perfect and the breakfast was wonderful and varied.

Nice hotel in a beautifull area. Nice room in two floors. View of the harbour. Bed was amazing. Clean all over. Lovely fluffy towels. A bit crowded at breakfast. Make some timeslots, to avoid queeing. I wish the breakfast not only in your hotel but in many hotels with “continental” breakfast would serve more healthy bread in stead of White toast/ muffin. Youghurt and the fruit was a Nice touch. And we enjoyed that we could do the laundry. Thank you. Best wishes Jesper
