Nice property- high pressure sales for timeshare
Beautiful property but be prepared for a high pressure sales pitch to join their timeshare and to be treated poorly for not booking directly. Every time we left our building the "concierge" tried to sign us up for the breakfast sales pitch and guilted us for not doing it. Room was clean but had maintenance issues that needed attention. Food was bland at the buffets. We had reservations 1 night at the Mexican restaurant which was good, but had to make our reservation in the lobby as our concierge at our building couldn't do it. Overall, the property is beautiful with nice pools, grounds, and easy access to Xcaret. We enjoyed our stay but won't return.

When a room is bad, don’t put people in it.
The hotel is gorgeous but the wait to check in took over 30 minutes. We were pleased with the luggage delivery service. Food service staff, towel staff, drivers, and most everyone was wonderful. Front desk staff were not wonderful. Our room upon arrival was loud and cold. The thermostat was set to permanent cold air and could not be changed. The TV was stuck on with loud volume. The remote control didn’t work and we couldn’t unplug it. We called the front desk and someone arrived soon to inspect the tv. It was a bad remote control he said. As we froze in the room, I tried to warm up in the shower but no hot water arrived!! The hot water was out. I called the front desk to ask for a room upgrade and said we would pay anything to get out of that room but was told nothing was available and check back in the morning. We seriously considered leaving the property but with two kids, we stayed. The next morning, we called about the upgrade and were told nothing was available. The third day with cold showers, I went back to the desk to beg because we were so cold in the room and there was no hot water. It was such punishment- we would pay any price for an upgrade. They said no upgrade was available but placed us in a new building after maintenance confirmed our report about the water and thermostat. I wish they would have taken care of us on our first arrival instead of making a chunk of our vacation uncomfortable.

Liked good times as our prior good times. But, you sold us tickets to other parks when the weather and unsanitary conditions made attending unsafe. After stopping those charges on my credit card, you allowed me to have the credit, so thank you. In the future, don't sell theme park tickets when they cannot be used. We loved our rooms, the grounds, and the food.

The property is huge so you can find busy areas to socialize or quiet areas to be at peace. If you are like me and prefer to walk over taking the trolley, please bring comfy sandals. I got blisters from walking so much in my crummy flip flops. I did have too much fun to really care though. It was beautiful and the staff were all lovely, we only had good experiences with the staff. They were kind and welcoming. It’s connected to the park so you can go back and forth between the resort and the park. The wildlife is really cool and they are very tame so you can enjoy viewing them without hesitation. I would have liked more beach area, as a lot of the ocean there is very rocky and a lot of inaccessible places, but it’s also a ten minute cab to playa del Carmen so that wasn’t a deal breaker. The one thing we had a hard time with was some of the drinks. I don’t know if it was cheap booze or weird mix, but a lot of the drinks had a strange flavour to them that we couldn’t put our finger on, and a few of the drinks were downright un drinkable. (You can just dump it and get another one but I hate wasting). That said it’s hard to complain about unlimited drinks and it can’t be expected that every drink will be perfect especially since we got a really good deal on our stay. You can eat at whichever of the restaurants and buffets you prefer and I think I gained like 5 pounds in a week from eating so much. The taco place was the best.
