1 night stay
It was a 1 night stay so it was fine. They are working on updating the place. They definitely need new beds. Front desk person was super nice. I would come back when they are done updating it.

More Bad than Good
Good and Bad - the bed was comfortable but I think my room must be used only for overflow. First, I had to search for the TV remote(s). After I found them in a drawer, the TV would not turn on - found that it was not plugged in. I got message that there was no signal. I tried a couple of times again. I am not the best with technology so thought I would call the front desk for some direction as there was no additional info in the room. Guess what - no phone in the room - really?!? Went to front desk and they requested maintenance come to check it out - about a 5 minute wait. 30 minutes later still no one came. I had to leave to meet family but when I came back a couple of hours later, maintenance was requested again. No one ever came to assist! I'm sure this room had not been used, here's why - no phone, no clock and no hangers in the closet area. What property does not provide those items in a room? Also, the shower had numerous black stuff on the tile. Hotel in general could use some updating. So glad I only needed the room for 1 night or I would have left after the first night anyway. Guess I should not have booked the Economy room. I would not stay at this property again.

Light Sleepers Make Note
While my overall experience at the Cactus Cove was great, I would caution getting a courtyard room if you are a light sleeper. You can hear everything that is going on in the lobby and the great room right outside the door. Staff was friendly and professional.

Fine in a pinch.
The grounds were fine, they were in the middle of a remodel & our room had very obviously not gotten remodeled yet. Bathrooms were very dated, paint peeling, I had to rinse someone else’s hair off of the shower walls! Do better. Fine with the room being old, especially for the price, but at least clean it properly.

A very enjoyable visit
We enjoyed our stay. Family from Virginia in Amarillo for a wedding in the canyon. Our Hotel was in perfect spot, center point of everywhere we needed to go. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bar and food was good. Surprisingly not too noisy, as we were close to the pool. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The renovations that have been done are spectacular! It was a fun easy place for me and my kids to stay. The owners have completely turned this property around from what it was and have made something wonderful! We will definitely be back! Thank you to the owners for making it affordable, clean, safe and fun!

Low Quality Dorm
It was bring your friend to work day at the hotel last night. Staff had friends hanging out at the front desk. It was the opposite of great. Restaurant was over priced. 2 desserts, 4 drinks was $71. There was no music being played in the bar. Only noise heard was the guy next to us hocking loogies every 3 minutes. Paid for credit on the music box but it only played in the back of the Restaurant where the bar cannot hear it. Wasted money. The rooms are too empty and echo with every sound. There are no nightstands in the deluxe suites. Felt like a low quality dorm room. Bed squeaked with every move. Need local options for tv. We were hoping this would be our go to spot since we travel to Amarillo 3 to 4 times a month.

Adrianna
One of the best experiences I’ve had at a hotel! I booked a king suite and was informed that the suite I was initially assigned was over the restaurant/bar and could be loud at night, and if that was an issue to give them a call. Both my boyfriend and I have fairly sensitive hearing so I called and asked to be placed in a different suite and they accommodated me very quickly! The room was on the opposite side of the hotel, overlooking the pool. It was very quite at night. It was a little louder during the day as the pool was being utilized, but if you don’t intend on being in your room during the day, it’s a non issue! The room itself was very clean and they did advise us at check in that house keeping was on a request basis. Someone did stop by to collect used towels and we were provided new ones when we inquired for more at the front desk. The only issue I encountered was being unable to enter the room after checking in. You’re provided a passcode to enter the room instead of a keycard, The doorknob wouldn’t register my code so I called up to the front desk and someone came by to help me out and everything was resolved in about 5 minutes! Everyone I encountered was very kind and courteous. I would 100% stay here again.

All went well until our complementary breakfast was limited to waffles, bagels, toast and a few more cold breakfast choices. Then there was hot food such as eggs sausage and hot biscuits that were a charge to get. Chef behind the bar was uninviting as to the woman half asleep behind the counter filling up her breakfast plate. Usually eggs are offered on some if not all complementary breakfast. Each burrito costing 7.50 each or two for 15 which to me was not worth it.
