A wonderful hotel in a brilliant location. Although some of the decor felt a little gawdy I couldn’t knock the cleanliness or overall presentation.
My single room was spacious and fitted with a queen size bed. It was situated on the top floor but was a quick walk up the stairs so hogging the lift wasn’t necessary.
Small provisions were provided such as shampoo, sewing kit, bottle of water, etc. There was a safe in the wardrobe but unfortunately it wouldn’t allow me to change the passcode, however, had I really been bothered I have no doubt a member of staff would have helped.
There was an orangery on the first floor with free hot beverages available at all times. This was a lovely bright air conditioned room where I could kill short periods of time between outings.
Breakfast was basic but there were hot and cold options available.
The staff I met were some of the friendliest and welcoming I have ever encountered in hospitality. Warm, helpful, just brilliant.
Hotel Wawel’s location is brilliant. So much within walking distance and plenty of transport options nearby. The road itself is peaceful and doesn’t attract too much traffic or footfall.
If or when I return to Krakow I wouldn’t hesitate to book Hotel Wawel again.
