Good place to stay
Great older place but newish owners need to put back into it a bit. A few broken knobs and mattress on one of the three beds was past its prime and not comfortable. Overall it was great, vintage but good place to stay. The Curly redwood was nice and the story. Very close to all redwood things to hike and see!

Interesting, very nice non-chain motel
Nice historical motel. Recently renovated, and nicely decorated. Loved the covered parking right in front of our room. Also loved being able to hear barking sea lions from our front door.

Regrets
Very dated. Could be updated and still keep the retro charm. Dirty, mildewy, uncomfortable beds, no heat in the separate bedroom and I could hear every step of the live in managers family upstairs. Couldn't park near our room, 4 cops across the street catching someone who assaulted someone up the road, towels above the toilet that had no seat lid... Could be so much better. I impulse booked it to be close to South Beach. Glad our stay is over. Can't seem to add photos to review.

Great Stay Minus the Dildo
I stayed at the Curly Redwood Lodge to have a cozy place to stay after exploring the Redwood National and State Parks. I loved the hotel and it’s great architectural characteristics that will never go out of style. However one thing did make me uncomfy is that I found a dildo in my room. Luckily I didn’t notice until my last night but it was weird, how does one forget that?! As funny as it was it was still gross. I also noticed that the maid service comes into your room regardless if you ask or not, put the maid door tag or not. So something to be aware of. I didn’t mind! I enjoyed my stay and will stay again, hopefully in a room with no sex toys this time!
Cute Sign off the 101 - can’t miss it!
Previous guests dildo, from who knows how long ago.

50’s style motor inn with nice upgrades. Did hear the traffic from the 101 as motel is right off that highway. But good value for the money and would stay here again.

Blast from the past
Beautifully maintained, clean, and nifty 50’s style motor inn complete with unique curly redwood woodwork and retro furnishings. Very close to the park and with a decent diner across the street.
