Rhino experience awesome - lodge dismal
When we arrived there was nobody at reception, then were told our stay was cancelled even though it wasn’t. Service in every area terrible, have to look for someone if you want to order a drink. Seeing the rhinos is amazing and could be the only thing that people would travel for. This lodge has so much potential to be so much better but there is zero enthusiasm by anybody on the property.

Nice stay
Great to see the animals around the waterhole which was amazing. Comfortable room. Bit disappointed by the pool which did not seem clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This place is great if you want to see rhinos and experience their presence without a fence or anything separating them from you. It’s not a place if you are looking for sterile bathrooms. The beds are comfortable under mosquito nets. There is lots of mosquitoes so be prepared with bug spray. She stuff is very helpful they are wonderful. It’s only a small volume lodge so the choice of food is not big but everything we had was tasty. Nice bar. We did not use swimming pool. The animals coming to the waterhole are making this place worth a visit.

Really great staff. Ceclia and Jessica were great and catered to the couple of requests we had. Loved the wildlife that came to feed at the waterhole next to the lodge.

Good value for a good price!
A quick overnight stop. Although a slight detour from the main road, it well worth it for the peace and quiet. Good value for a good price. The noisy rhinos feeding on the front lawn were an additional treat

6/10 Good

Some of the staff were really friend and helpful (especially vickas!) it was a nice quiet and clean resort. HOWEVER, they had arbitrary rule that maxed out at 200 mb with no other explanation other than “that’s the rule”. This is 2019 and you are given internet connections now even throughout moving camps in the middle of the Serengeti. Paying as much as you do to stay here this was unacceptable. That is enough internet to check a few emails. As well their lunch was a nice a la cart menu however their dinner was a preset 25 usd menu that has no choice and you are “forbidden” from bringing other food into the campsite (understandably not to your rooms but in the main area?!)

Modern lodge with in a peaceful setting
We had a lovely time! Two suggestions, the service in the restaurant could be a bit quicker however the staff were super friendly and interesting to talk to. The sofa bed in our room was a bit wobbly. We had an amazing time and would return.

Oasis in Mariental
This lodge is about 25km out of Mariental. When you drive through the gates you forget about the many km you have driven as the setting is so peaceful and tranquil.

Dishonest manager
Confirmed and paid for reservations two months in advance of trip with confirmation emails from the manager. Upon arrival, was told that reservation was for previous night and we lost pre-paid reservation. They said they were completely booked and blamed staff for error. Only upon showing them confirmation emails for correct date from manager did they offer to put us up in a farmhouse near the property with no electricity or running water. At that time a bus load of German tourists pulled up. After talking with them, we found out they had booked their rooms AFTER we made our reservations, and apparently, the hotel manager decided to go with a bigger group in lieu of honoring our reservations. Only after lots of talking and arguing, did they agree to find rooms for us at another location and refund all of our money - they originally wanted to just transfer funds to the other hotel, even though the room rates were significantly less. The most upsetting part was that they weren't honest about giving away our rooms. And at no time during the interaction did they offer us a seat, glass of water, or any solution to our dilemma until we pressed them to do so. Luckily, we had Africaans speaking friends with us or we wouldn't have been able to work anything out. We spent thirteen nights in Namibia at 10 different lodges. Our experiences with all other lodges were excellent. Would not recommend this lodge to anyone - the managers are dishonest and rude.
