Great place to get away from civilization
This place is located very remotely at the end of a barely driveable one-lane dirt road, one hour from the nearest city (La Paz). It is truly in the middle of nowhere. Great for hiking, nature walks in the desert, horseback riding, snorkeling, fishing, and being alone on the beach. Nearest shopping is an hour away, except for a small gift shop at the resort. Built in 1948 and supposedly the first resort hotel in Baja California. Price is relatively high considering the facilities, but includes 15 % service charge and 3 meals a day, excluding beverages. The oceanfront cabanas are highly recommended for couples. They also have a huge house with a private swimming pool that can accommodate 10 people. There are no room numbers, no room safes, and no room keys! They say nothing has ever been stolen from a room. There is no phone service, and Wi-Fi works less than half of the time. Great breakfasts to order. Lunch and dinner have a set menu each day, so it helps to be flexible with food choices. Maria's Mexican cooking is especially good. It also helps to know Spanish, as few people around here speak English. Alberto is very helpful in the front office. This place is not for everyone, but it is great if you really, really want to get away from it all.
