Electric problems
The electricity went out while I was sleeping and I use a CPAP. So that is why I didn’t give a higher rating. Otherwise it was an amazing hotel experience.

Yosemite Valley Lodge
This is a great location in Yosemite Valley with easy access to trails, attractions, and food service. The Canyon Cafe, Starbucks, and Mountain Bar were directly across the road from our lodge. The Canyon Cafe was very disappointing. The food was cold or had been sitting under warmers for too long.

The rooms need some TLC. Carpet needs to be replaced and the mattress were not very comfortable.

Dated but it's the Yosemite experience
The accommodations were fine, the patio and view were amazing! The bathroom floor had dirt by the tub and dirt on the outside of the tub. The young man that checked me in was unfriendly, never looked at me and ran through the directions and information so quickly mumbling. I had to ask him to repeat information. You could tell he had no interest in customer service or giving the guest an experience. Now the gentleman at the Lodge gift shop was friendly and gave me extra information. I requested a bottom floor for stair disability and it was great.Would I stay again, Yes!

4/10 Fair

The convenience to stay in Yosemite may not outweigh the fact that the lodge is extremely outdated. In particular the bathroom needs to be renovated. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and it didn't smell very pleasant. The bedroom area was relatively clean, but the overall vibe I got was extremely outdated and musky/damp. The parking is right in front of the lodge that we stayed, which was convenient. The food options weren't the best, but that was expected as the location is very remote.

It was the cheapest option to stay in Yosemite at this time of year. The rooms are traditional and comfortable but they are in need to updating, repair and cleaning. The food options in the valley are limited but breakfast options at the lodge were good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay as it was for one night and we enjoyed Yosemite so much.

Well past its prime, Yosemite Lodge is way overdue for a refresh. You can’t beat the location of course but as the only really reasonable place to stay in the valley, it’s pretty sad that the concession holders have let it degrade to the stage the Lodge is in today. The carpets and bathrooms are marginally clean but there is only so much the house cleaners can do when the units are just plain worn out.
