Cosy cottage by the sea
Fabulous location by the sea, a group of cottages and a cosy restaurant which served us an amazing 4 course Christmas meal on one of our evenings. Room was warm, spacious and comfortable.

A hit or a miss when it comes to service
The location is brilliant and the hotel-village is very pretty. We stayed two nights either end of the trip, and I cannot fault the first night at all, everything was super, apart from the electric kettle that we had to clean as someone must have tried cooking something in it and burned it. For the second night despite our specific request our cottage was changed from the sea facing one to an inner-yard one with a lot of light pollution from a glaring projector and non-working restaurant that remains bright through the night, also very little privacy. But the worst surprise was the bed linen - they forgot to change it from previous guests, so there were breadcrumbs and hair etc. When we reported the issue, we did not get any reply, not even an apology. I did not want to write this review as one-off mistakes can happen, but not getting an apology hinted that the issue could be more systemic. Hopefully they take note, the place could be good value for money when travelling with kids, but do check your bedding and other things while it is still working hours to avoid the yak feeling of having been in a stranger's bed....

Would not reccomend
We were so excited about this stay but it really did dissapoint. So much promise yet delivered so little. -Hot tub was very lack-luster (dirty) -Suggested restaurant was very far away and a far cry from the 'fun viking' themed night we were promised -Empty shower gel in the shower -No one around to ask/speak to

Unique Property, Good Value
Such a cool spot! Just don't expect the typical hotel amenities such as a restaurant, staff, and so on. However, if you are looking for a place to stay that's a bit unusual and out of the way, look no further. Great for a couple or even small family if you choose the rooms with the lofts. I loved that the skylights and all the glass. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow! This property has the best water pressure that I’ve ever had in a hotel or cabin. The water was very hot which I love. The only downside was there wasn’t a microwave, but I knew that going in and I would stay there again even with the microwave. If we ever came back to Iceland in the summertime, I would like to stay a few nights here.

I had the most comfortable stay at Fisherman’s Village. The surrounding area has breathtaking views with Icelandic horses that added to the beauty! It’s quiet and private and my room was adorable! It wasn’t far from Reykjavik. Check-in/check-out instructions were easy and communication was excellent. The only negative (and I’m not deducting points for this) is my refrigerator wasn’t cooling. Minor issue. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this gem of a hotel. It’s so private and cute. It is far from pretty much everything but if you have a car that shouldn’t be an issue.

Hot tub left open in rain, not really usable. Rooms were dated. Clean but musty smelling. Sheets had old stain on them.

The cabins are isolated and you need a car to get anywhere. The property has a restaurant on site but it only opens Fridays to Sundays. We booked the superior room for 3 people. The cabin was clean and had a mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, linens, cups. This property has no desk on site. They are on call from The Viking Hotel. The views are amazing! The location is perfect to watch the Northern Lights because it’s far from city lights. It’s very quiet and peaceful. There are horses and other animals roaming around. Full Iceland experience! Would definitely return!

I’m in love with this property! The cabin is beautiful and we saw the northern lights the first night we checked in, and a couple of times throughout our visit. We also were able to see the icelandic horses from our window, theres grass in the ceiling in some of the cabins and plenty of free parking. It’s located about 20 -25 min from downtown and 15 min from Sky Lagoon. I will recommend renting a vehicle since the location its a bit remote not to far from the action but I didn’t see any buses or transportation near. I think this property is PERFECT FOR THE ICELANDIC EXPERIENCE! Highly recommended!
