Less than advertised

Staff was friendly but the accommodations were less than advertised. A very loud portable air conditioner had to run all night because of heat being generated from the walls/ceiling. The bed was a foam mattress with a bottom sheet & top quilt. Would not stay here again.

A great place to stay

The Redesdale Arms in Moreton in the Marsh is excellent. It is conveniently situated in the Cotswolds, in striking distance of many National Trust locations. The service, food and hospitality are first class. This is the second time we have stayed here, and like last year,it did not disappoint. The food served at the Redesdale is very tasty and varied and represents good value for money. The very friendly and helpful staff make it a must if you are wanting to stay in this part of the country. Highly recommended.

Great location and services, too much light bleed

Great hotel with excellent food and service. Large comfortable rooms. The only issue I had was the car park lights. We had a room in the converted stables right under one of the lights. They had darkness shades but there was too much light bleed around the sides resulting in a room that never got dark. They would be better served putting blackout curtains on these windows facing the car park to eliminate most of the light bleed.

Xmas get away

Check n was fast and efficient, benefits from. It’s own parking which was a must for the area. Room was a good size and a nice touch was the free Water and 1/2 Carafe of local Sherry and a good selection of Teas and Coffees. We ate in the Restaurant in the evening and the choice was good and was well presented and tasty. The included Breakfast benefited from a buffet selection and the Hot Breakfast was to order and had a good choice available. Overall very pleasant and enjoyable experience and we would certainly stay again when in the area

6/10 Good

The food and pub were wonderful! The staff was friendly and attentive. The issue is the room wasn't as inviting as the photo indicated. The bed was dreadful! The mattress left us with backaches in the morning. The shower in the bath was like that in an RV or camper and had a bit of mildew in the corners. Parking was most convenient and the location was excellent for touring.

Amazing staff and outstandiing food

If you want fantastic service entwined with excellent food and an ambience of tranquillity, look no further. I stay in hotels for around 3 weeks a month and can say without hesitation that this is the best all-around service I have received for many years. The staff in this hotel are the politest and most helpful, always answering with a smile and cheerful persona. It's the perfect way to start the day and relax at the end of the day, and the food is truly outstanding. The breakfast options and quality of food was the best I have had in many years. From super fresh fruit and cereal to the most fantastic haddock or kippers (I tried all). The evening meal is available in the restaurant or the bar/lounge. Sitting next to a huge inglenook fireplace with a roaring log fire presented an unsurpassable dining opportunity experience (bar/lounge area). The whole experience of outstanding staff service, fantastic food, and ambience is all entwined to create a pure utopia. I highly recommend this to all for the staff service, food quality, ambience, and price.

Friendly hotel with good food and service

Very friendly nice hotel. Between us we had two rooms - one in the actual hotel and one in the annexe. The one in the annexe was very comfortable, clean, quiet and nice (only slight problem was a very wobbly tap in the basin). The one in the hotel was generally very nice, quiet and clean but the mattress was terrible - it had totally dropped on one side so you felt as though you were going to fall out all the time. It needs replacing. The room was also incredibly hot and they had put in a portable air conditioning unit to try and solve this. Unfortunately it was so noisy you could not have it in when in the room. The food and service were excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel but perhaps stay in one of the annexe rooms rather than in the actual hotel

Third place gets the prize!

We have stayed at Moreton-in-Marsh many times before, but as both the hotels we have used in the past were fully booked this time, we homed in on the Redesdale Arms. Check-in was not a life-enhancing experience, with brusque reception and no help with our luggage. Things could only improve, and they certainly did. Our room, right by the car park (but no intrusion upon privacy) was very comfortably appointed, with two particularly charming touches: a carafe of sherry (sweet, but never mind) and, most thoughtful of all, a Guest Compendium listing not only the hotel's own amenities, but those available within and from the town. The hospitality tray was lavish, and, bless, there was both still and sparkling water. The brusque greeting when we arrived was long forgotten thanks to the friendliness and helpful efficiency of other staff members, from the amazing manager down through all the levels, who were always warmly welcoming. Breakfasts were as good as one would expect, from the well-sourced cooked (including delicious haddock, as well as, of course, English) and a lavish cold display. We had one evening meal, with an imaginative menu, and couldn't have been better looked after. The bar must get some Campari in stock, though, and learn how to make Margheritas! There was a varied mix of guests of several nationalities, all of whom seemed charmed by this example of English hospitality at its best (once past the churlish check-in). We shall make this our first choice from now on.

6/10 Good

The receptionist was surly and rude to another member of staff in front of us. The room smelt musty as they need a window in the bathroom (not sure why they had to cover it up), woken by the council recycling truck collecting and dumping the glass bottles from the large bins. As room 14 is in the yard area, we experienced builders and the bin men from 8am. Only good thing as the bed was comfy. BUT Would not recommend

The private car park is to the rear of the building, but was full when we arrived, so we used on street parking in front of the hotel, which is only restricted until 6pm. The room was small, clean and tidy, but the

预定了双床房,给我的是大床房,我反馈了以后,换了房间。因为房间在楼上,没有电梯,也没有服务员帮忙,所以服务不是很满意。其它都是比较中规中矩,价格不便宜,性价比不高。

Best service we’ve ever received in the UK.

Excellent staff/service. Every experience with the staff was 5 star. Truly wonderful stay, although we wish we’d realized our radiator was on the first day we arrived, as we had to keep our portable cooler running whenever we were in the room to not be too warm. We realized it was on at the lowest setting as we were packing up to leave.
