Novotel Aachen City

Novotel Aachen City

10/10 Excellent
" Very clean hotel/room, pleasant staff and a wonderful breakfast selection (though a bit pricey). I would have given it 5 stars if not for the odd room layout. I had a single queen room. The toilet was immediately to the left of the door, but the sink, shower and tub were around the corner. I found that odd. There was an electric kettle in the room with a few tea and instant coffee selections, and a mini fridge. The room size was good with two windows that you could open. I came in by train and you can take bus 3 or 13 to the Hansemannplatz stop. Cross the street to Peterstraße and the hotel is down on the left. Easy to get to and a short walk further down Peterstraße gets you towards the old town. "

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Aachen

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Aachen is between January and March when hotel prices tend to be lower. To fully appreciate the city’s historical and cultural landmarks, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, visitors can explore key attractions such as exquisite museums, charming countryside views, and romantic spots that highlight Aachen's rich heritage. This period offers great value for money, making it an ideal choice for those travelling on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Aachen, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, making it easier to find the best options. If prices drop or rooms become available, you could be among the first to know, enhancing your chances for a budget-friendly getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you save on your stay in an Aachen hotel. If you're seeking unique accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll recommend alternative dates that could help you secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be pricier, but with Aachen's outstanding public transit options, you may find a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still well-connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
