Huh…

Room not ready after checking. Moved to an “upgraded”room. Basically the same type room, up one floor, but with an aroma generator (no instructions) an air filter (same) and some sort of filter on the shower…no clue what it was. If the room was being renovated, it didn’t show. So many unfinished trim areas, bath window looking into some weird exterior shaft…mirror above toilet…not the sink. Then after checking (9:27pm to be exact) a knock on the door and a staff member asking if I could change the check-in to a five star. Nope. Because it wasn’t.

The parking was unclear. They made it seem like there was a parking structure next door we could just swing into, but we actually had to check in first to get an access card to park at the Marriott nearby. This would have been fine if they just mentioned that in their email, or their phone call. Instead they kept repeating it would be cash only and 200 ft away, never mentioning that we should actually put our hazards on outside the hotel and then they will give us the address to the structure. There were also questionnable stains on the sheets.

A Boutique Hotel in Downtown

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lumea by the Sea, and it exceeded all expectations. Tucked away at 63 Lime Ave, this boutique hotel offers a serene and stylish retreat just a short distance from the vibrant downtown area. The room was impeccably clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. While it's not directly on the beach, the hotel's central location made it easy to explore nearby attractions, restaurants, and the beautiful coastline. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, Lumea by the Sea offers a peaceful and luxurious stay in the heart of Long Beach. Highly recommended!

From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed! The staff was beyond kind, the room was super comfy, and the Revive Lounge was such a nice surprise—great coffee, yummy snacks, and a quiet space to unwind. It just felt easy and relaxing.

Services is amazing

The parking was far, it was like a 3 min walk and it's paid but hey it's a 3 star hotel so you cant expect a boutique hotel in downtown to be giving free parking. It isn't a cheap hotel by any means closer to hyatt or mariott pricing but the services provided are what yoy pay for.

A GEM. A HISTORIC BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The hotel was amazing! I opted to stay with the club room and boy was the breakfast amazing. Fluffy waffles, to scrambled eggs just like a Hampton Inn Breakfast. Room are excceptionally small but well decorated with premium luxurious amenities like aaromatherapy machines, Vitamin C showers, Air Purifiers, and Dyson Hair Dryer

Pretty expensive for what you get

Yes, I know it's California and in town and close to the convention center. And yes, I know it's an old building. Still, for what you get, it's still underwhelming. Room isn't particularly big. No place to put luggage. Shower curtain. Sorta what you get with a much lower priced hotel. The room is as pretty as it looks in the pictures, but not nearly as spacious. People at the front desk were really kind. However, they reported at my checkout that they were instructed that they couldn't hold my luggage for the bulk of the day until my midnight flight, meaning I'd have to schlep my stuff around town for the better part of the day. They said they didn't have space. Perhaps that's true. However, I'm 61, and I just paid over $800 for a 3-night stay. I mean, seriously? There is a "room service" thing, where companies kinda Uber in some food. But it didn't work. That's not the hotel's fault, but it's really expensive and the choices nearby at 11:00 pm are surprisingly slim for a city that size. And that's too bad. Long Beach rocks!
