Simpson Bay Delight

First time in St. Maarten and we chose the right location for the Dutch side. Right on the bay beach, nice pool overlooking the Ocean. It’s more of a Time-share clientele and no daily room service. We got the breakfast package which you didn’t. There is a supermarket up the block and a ton of restaurants within walking distance. We rented a car which was cheap. The roads are not perfect. We are in Orient Bay to check out the French resort experience.

Very Nice

We were very impressed with the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. The check in went smoothly and our unit was ready for us. The resort is very clean and the staff made sure it stayed that way. It’s ideally located if you don’t want to explore the island and stay put. There are a number of very good restaurants within the immediate walking area or just a short drive away. The beach and pool areas are exceptionally clean with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The only problem we found is that people claim the chairs very early in the morning by attaching their beach towel to the chairs. The security staff does their best to monitor this with a time limit of it being unoccupied and unused. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we hope to visit again.

The property was wonderful. My only complaint is that check-in was at 4. After waiting on line and checking in at 3:45, I was told the room wasn't ready and to come back at 4. I sat in the small lobby until 5:30, continually waiting on the long line and being told it wasn't ready. I finally got my room, but the front desk was ill informed and "just keep checking" is not great service.
