I recently stayed at this resort"hotel, and I have to say it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. It’s clear that the management is more focused on their sports complex than on providing any sort of decent hotel experience. First, let’s talk about the pricing. For what we paid, I expected a much better stay. The room was far from luxurious, and it didn’t even feel clean. They’ve clearly put all their money into the sports facilities, but completely neglected the basic amenities that should come with a stay at a hotel. The price was outrageously high for what you actually get—especially when you consider the poor quality of the rooms. Speaking of which, the room itself was a disaster. There was peeling paint everywhere, which made it feel like it had been neglected for awhile. Then, to top it off, they double-charged me for parking because they assumed I had brought two cars. By the way I was only there with my 12yr old son. Their form of inquisition was accusation then recovery.. It’s clear that the management's priorities are completely out of whack. They’ve sunk money into the sports complex, but seem to have forgotten they’re running a hotel too. If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay this is not it. In fact you'd be better off staying in a motel.

Nice but needs work.
We live locally and wanted a quick weekend getaway. The grounds are torn up from construction, the travertine tiles wobble when you walk. We were upgraded to a 2 room suite! The sliders had hand prints all over them. Saturday we went to the pool which was great the service and staff were friendly, showering after the pool we found the main shower was not clean hair was on shower wall. I did speak with front desk they offered a $25 refund for the cleanliness of the room. It was a nice getaway. I would like to go back after renovations are complete on the grounds! Hopefully the rooms get updated too!

Better luck next time?
We booked this hotel based on very positive reviews from friends and family, but did not get that same experience. We arrived at the resort later than expected and was hoping for valet parking. According to the staff they were understaffed and did not have anyone to park our car. We were told to drive back towards the entrance and park in an empty spot "just take a right at the stop sign and park". Then, my husband myself, another gentleman and his 5 year old waited with all of our stuff for over 10 minutes but no shuttle bus arrived. So we had to walk with all of our luggage 1.6 miles to the lobby and then walk to our room. When we asked staff about using the golf carts 2 separate employees said 1. the battery will overheat and die and 2. its not fast enough the shuttle bus is faster. The next morning the front desk said there was nothing they can do for us just to email. When the shuttle bus did come to take us to our car it smelled sooo bad of mold and rot. I felt very bad for the driver having to breathe that in all day as it smelled like a serious issue was happening with water damage inside possibly putting mold spores in the air.

There was a number to text to order your car ahead of time but it never worked. Also, the duvet on our bed (Unit 521) had blood and urine stains. Maybe it had been washed and the stains wouldn't come out but it looked bad

The level of service from most of the team and staff is outstanding... And the grounds, for the most part, are beautiful... However, the valet service and cart transportation system needs to be shut down, revamped completely and opened under a new manager... If you are not familiar with the setup at Saddlebrook, VALET parking is REQUIRED and then you are taken to your respective building and unit via multi-seat golf cart. So, when the valet system is overwhelmed (which happens multiple times a day every single day) you are basically just stuck at the other end of the resort either having to decide to walk across the resort for your lunch or dinner or golf game or spa visit or to retrieve your vehicle for departure from the property for the day... Since valet parking is required.. they probably need to either triple or quadruple the capacity at that bottleneck...

Pictures misleading - Do not recommend
Room was dated and in disrepair. Photos showed a full kitchen, however we did not have an oven (which was pictured). Mildew everywhere, including along the fridge seal. Chairs were falling apart and wall paper peeling. We were there for a dance competition/convention and the rooms the kids were taking classes in had carpets that were pulling up and sticking to the kids. They were also clearly not set up to handle large conventions. Trying to get into the resort caused a 30-45 min backup as there was only one guard station. Self parking is a mile away from the convention center and shuttles took forever (and were not convenient if you needed to use your car at any point). The valet parking was full before noon, so making the hike from self parking with luggage, costumes, etc was being done by everyone, causing the shuttles to fill up faster/unable to take as many people at a time. Would not stay here again.

Beware
If you like easy access to your vehicle, do not stay here. There are two options for parking. You can valet for $10 then have someone take you to your room in a golf cart. Or you can park in the public parking lot then wait in the middle of the lot where a shuttle will eventually pick you up and take you to the main building and then you have to find someone with a golf cart to take you to your room. Good luck if you are carrying luggage or it’s raining. Reverse the process in order to leave your room so hopefully, you’re not in a hurry as this process is lengthy. During our stay, valet was not even an option as it was already full. Once we finally made it to our room, we were met with more disappointment. The room was very dated and musty. You won’t get this smell out of your nose for a few days. We were in a one bedroom suite that was equipped with old dirty furniture, peeling wallpaper everywhere and dated appliances. Don’t stay here.

Disappointing and discrimination
Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We booked two nights but had to cancel after the first one. There was no hot water, and although a technician was sent, the issue was never resolved. Additionally, the TV controls were not working. The most concerning part was the way my wife was treated, as she was disregarded and treated with little respect, possibly due to being Latina. This is unacceptable, especially in a place that welcomes guests from all nationalities. We expected much better from both the service and the facilities.
