The hotel itself it beautifully restored in its original MCM style. Check-in staff were friendly but a little flustered. Excellent breakfast buffet, one of the best I've experienced anywhere in the world. Room and communal areas impeccably clean. Fast, free internet connection. A shame that I was directed to the parking spaces next to the hotel, which I only found out at check-out was charged at €15 per day. Plenty of free parking available right outside the hotel which I would have happily used had I known about the charge. Why wouldn't I return? One thing: the room was unbearably warm, even in November. Turning the aircon down to minimum still resulted in warm air being pumped into the room. I'd estimate that it was around 30 degrees in there, far too warm to comfortably sleep. Upon asking at reception, I was told that the central aircon system had been switched off for the winter and only heating was available. The only solution I found was to leave the balcony sliding doors open. Not the best thing for security and it also meant that it was very noisy at night. You have to choose between not sleeping because of the heat, or not sleeping because of the noise. In summary, there's so much to recommend in this hotel, but the heating/aircon situation means that I will not return.
