They double booked my room so I was hours from home and no where to stay then blamed it on hotel.com when they are the ones who show availability so if you're gonna get a room here, make sure you call ahead

The online pictures must be from many years ago and do not represent the current condition. Needs major renovations and updates.

Very nice and accommodating owner. Easy to communicate with. No elevator, so had to carry suitcases up two narrow flight of stairs—not easy for 74 year old. Nice size room with closet and desk. It’s a very old house so drafty. After first cold night, requested extra blanket but our room was not made after first night and no extra blanket provided. Great view of scenic yard. Pedestal vanity in bathroom so no room for toiletries. Even though the description on website said separate tub and shower, there is just a gigantic deep tub—even with a stool I was too scared to try it. The breakfast was very good—cooked to order eggs, potatoes, sausage patty, and croissant.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff and breakfast was wonderful! The only thing that was that the bed in the Evangeline was pretty firm. We did sleep, but it was a little tricky getting comfortable. I think that if we stayed there again I would look at another room to see if any beds are different. But I would definitely go there again!

No one told us how DELICIOUS and beautifully presented our breakfast would be. The chef’s special grits were incredibly delicious! The bacon and eggs with their homemade toasted bread… along with grits or fried potatoes with peppers and onions made a fantastic breakfast. Our handsome server was a true gentleman. The upstairs porch was fun to sit on and sip coffee. The grounds need some upkeep. It would make the Inn a 5 star. Power wash the sidewalks and sweep the walkways of muddy runoff, and this Inn would be gorgeous. The staff was lovely and our room was very spacious. It took a bit to figure out how to get the hot water turned on in our shower~ but it did finally. Conveniently located to both downtown Hammond and Ponchatoula. The plantation vibe in southern Louisiana was fun. I definitely recommend it

What a gem in the middle of town! The Michabelle Inn is an oasis set with beautiful grounds and shady live oaks. Our room, the Oriental cabin, was very comfortable. Just what we needed. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all of my friends.

An absolutely lovely room. Very quiet and private. The hot tub was great, a very comfortable bed and very roomy. We will definitely return the next time we are in town.

Spacious room, love the balcony, Jacuzzi tub didn’t seem to work. Hat’s off to Ryan and Ollie specifically. Those two really went above and beyond. I would stay at Michabelle’s again.

Great Experience - A Journey Back in Time
Step back into time and enjoy a unique experience. Wonderfully restored mansion and beautiful grounds. What a great break from the usual modern day cookie cutter hotels. The service was excellent and staff extremely friendly and attentive to what you might need to make your stay a treat.

We would stay again . . .
Host (Dave) was very hospitable and helpful. The breakfast was "top shelf." The B & B, however, is showing its age - and could use some cosmetic updates. We love the character and history of the place, and that takes the overall ranking up a notch.

Great stay
Had a great two night stay. Room was awesome and the breakfast in the morning was good. The potatoes and the grits were to die for. Overall the Inn may need a little touchup here and there but shoot, it's over a hundred years old. Staff and food was great.
