I'm a walker so didn't mind walking to all the places around Amsterdam.
Liked having access to washer/dryer. Staff was helpful with downloading and showing how to use app to run machines.
Refrigerator smelled like something had spoiled in it (smell went away by increasing coldness). Oven was showing a error message when trying to use it so needed repair which was done the next day. No toilet paper on 1 day which they blamed on a strike that had been known for days in advanced. Not sure floor had been mopped because I noticed large dried spot where someone had missed the toilet.

Mar 10, 2026We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable. As for the location, it is very practical: within easy walking distance to many of the main attractions, as well as services, in addition to being also fairly quiet.

Aug 15, 2026Do not recommend in summer….The room we paid for did not include what was included listed. SUPER HOT ROOM. Rude staff. We paid a lot of money and treated terribly on our stay. They didn’t provide fan, no weekly clean, fresh towels, or toilet paper. One staff member was lovely but besides that I do not recommend staying in summer. The hallway smelt like urine and we asked to be cleaned and 2 weeks later… nothing was done.
I was told to wear headphones in reception while waiting for my food then the staff continued to gossip and talk about their weekend and told me I was bothering them and “bugging” them.
Besides this, great location and nice spot close by and canals were beautiful.

Apr 17, 2026The combined washer/dryer was convenient, but confusing for us Americans. Directions on how to use it & what symbols mean would be helpful. Also, if there was a retractable clothesline in the bathrooms that we could use to hang things to dry, that would be very helpful. Or maybe some hooks in the bathroom to hang things on. Dishwasher was good too. Could vacuum the rug before & during our stay.

Jun 15, 2026We really enjoyed this apartment. It's close to everything we wanted see or very easy to get to train. Lots of near by restaurants, and a little grocery store down street
The front desk was friendly and was available when we needed them.
There were only two drawbacks that I found.
1. There was a small washer/dryer in the apartment, but no instructions on how to use it. We ran two successful loads and then were unable to get anything to dry. The complex has a communal washer & dryer, but it's in a separate building and 7 euros for each wash and each dry - quite pricy.
2. Beds were a bit small. We are a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teenagers) and someone was always on the floor.
I would definitely stay with Wittenberg again but would probably opt for 3 bedroom instead.
Location was great! And gave us more living space just not sleeping space .
