The best spot to see cherry blossoms in Xinshe District is on County Highway 129. The second section of Xingshe Street, where Xinshe District Office is located, is where you'll find highest concentration of cherry trees. Luce Memorial Chapel at Tunghai University

Located in Xitun, Taichung, Luce Memorial Chapel is a famous building on the campus of Tunghai University. This Protestant chapel was built in 1962 by the renowned Taiwanese architect, Chen Chi-kwan, and American architect, I. M. Pei. Listed as both a city and national monument in Taichung, its curved roof in the shape of a sail has made it one of the city's most iconic landmarks.
The main floor of Luce Memorial Chapel occupies an area of 4,273 square feet (397 square metres) and is 64 feet (19.6 metres) high. The building has no columns and is instead supported using engineering techniques. Large panels of glass are placed at positions where you would normally find beams and columns, allowing natural light to flood in and creating an ethereal and mysterious atmosphere. This graceful and elegant building is a famous attraction in Taichung. Cycling on Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way

The first cycle path in Taiwan to be converted from an abandoned railway, Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way is 7.5 miles (12 km) long and spans Fengyuan, Shigang and Dongshi. The path runs parallel to the blue waters of the Daja River, taking you past shady trees and pretty scenery along the way. There are two routes here. One is Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way (7.5 miles or 12 km), which runs from the railway track to Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park. The other is Hou-Fong Bike Path (2.8 miles or 4.5 km), which will take you to Houli Horse Ranch.
There are bicycle rental shops near the starting point of the cycle path, so you can set off straight away once you've chosen your bike. The greenway is popular with people of all ages. The lush, green scenery attracts lots of couples, who come here to spend some carefree time together, riding their bikes in the gentle breeze.

Fun in Zhongshe Flower Market

Zhongshe Flower Market is a large flower farm offering leisure, entertainment and sightseeing activities. Located in Houli, Taichung, just beside Taichung Highway 13, the market covers an area of 14.8 acres (6 ha). This flower farm is unique in Central Taiwan, as tulips here are planted at low altitude. There are a total of 150,000 plants and the flowering time is adjusted using a special technique. Every year from January to March, the different varieties of tulips take it in turns to bloom.
Other than tulips, the flower farm also has lilies of different varieties and colours. The flowering season is from December to April of the following year. You'll find not only common varieties like casa blanca and golden lilies, but also the rarer princess lilies. The lively fiesta of flowers in whites, reds and pinks in the fields is visually stunning. This captivating sea of flowers has attracted many couples who list Zhongshe Flower Market as a must-see attraction. Heart locks at Fengyuan Gonglaoping Lookout Point

Gonglaoping in Fengyuan, Taichung, stands at an altitude of about 1,300 to 1,600 feet (400 to 500 metres) and is known as the "Yangmingshan of Fengyuan" after Taiwan's famous scenic mountain. There's Qiufengjia Memorial Park, where there's a huge stone monument erected to record the life and deeds of Qiu Fengjia (a famous Taiwanese patriot, educator, and poet) for future generations to pay tribute to. Though the park is small, it's in an excellent location with panoramic views and a great place to enjoy the golden sunset and the bright lights of Taichung city at night.
The scenery here is delightful, be it day or night. Many tourists come here to enjoy the views, but the most exciting time to visit this park is when night falls. There's a lookout point in Gonglaoping with the letters L-O-V-E spelt out at the top of the guardrail and a mesh structure below for couples to hang heart locks as a symbol of their affection for each other. Not far from the lookout point is a shop serving coffee and other drinks. It's a perfect spot to enjoy the night view and spend an unforgettable romantic evening with your partner.
