The hotel is in a good location right across from Grant Park within walking distance to the museums there and Soldier Field. There are some excellent restaurants nearby and a Trader Joe's. But, the hotel allows panhandlers to hang right out front, near the front door. The Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites next door do not have this issue.
The check-in experience was good, but that is where the service stopped. Our room had a broken bathroom door (the panel was coming off the door and would catch on the door jam if the door was fully closed.) I let the Front Desk know and they didn't even apologize. The bathroom vanity was dinged up.
There are no amenities such as breakfast, small convenience store, etc or even water bottles in the room. They do have valet parking which is convenient, but the system is inefficient. The front desk personnel also staff valet.
It took nearly 40 minutes to retrieve our car from the valet. The front desk person had to operate the front desk, retrieve luggage from the luggage storage area and get the valet cars. I was told valet was the last priority. For $52 a night, I would expect better service.
If given a choice, I would stay next door at one of the Hilton properties. Sadly, those were booked so I decided to give this one a try.
