Room for so much improvement
Well after travelling down from Scotland for night stay they must of had a shortage of cleaners or this room had not been touched for a few weeks!!! There was dust on everything but was to tired to complain! After a nap at least the bed was cleaned we heading down for some food, which is the only thing we could not complain about!! We asked at reception for another towel as we only got one in the room when two people are staying in and told they would bring one up shortly and let’s just say that still never arrived !! I decided to take a bath to help myself chill before bed and to my shock that bathroom head not been cleaned in a very long time and black mould all over the bathroom ceiling !!! Photos to follow yes this hotel is under refurbishment but the cleaner still has a job to do when cleaning rooms !!! A hoover and wet dust would have all it needed well for the room itself!! It has been a damper to our little weekend away but I sure won’t return !!! Staff on reception really need a course in customer service the gentleman who checked us in was ok but this morning the lady asked no questions and quietly checked us out we had an appointment to go to so couldn’t take it up with them glad to be getting my own clean house tonight
Dust on top of head rest and that was a tiny part of it

Tired, dated, naff
I've stayed it 3 times recent years when needing to be in Solihull for work. I always end up staying here as the village is so dear and bad on me, I do know what it's going to be like....but this times it's the worst and the place is just getting more run down. Service on front desk is at best lack luster but the rooms, they're so dated, haven't seen a lick of paint since it opened and they still charge a top rate for the privilege. If a room was 60quid you could get on board with it but at £90 it doesn't roll. And as for the bathroom, you'll get a better wash from under a hose pipe and finally when you get water the bath fills up (I wanted a shower but the tap gave me both!) it fills up a tinge of yellow, you could only hope its rusty pipes. Aye, this place is fine enough if it was priced to reflect what you get but it isn't and to top it off, parkings a tenner.

It really is a lovely hotel in a good location. It just needs some TLC. It is looking very tired. I can see there is some work going on

Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
The hotel seems to be under refurbishment, and does need it. Take soap n shampoo as none was in my room. Luckily I carry some! There was a very strong smell of wet paint in the corridor I stayed, which meant the room had a constant odour of wet paint all night. Plus, it was noisy until about midnight with machine whirring. I assume it was an industrial dishwasher as my room was over the kitchen area. Room was warm n clean, just very well worn. Staff are very helpful, breakfast was super and plenty of it available. I’ll probably give it a try in about 6 months to let them complete their refurbishment works.

Check-in was great, lots of parking available and don’t have to pay on weekends. The bedrooms are dated and can do with refurbishment. Our room had 2 singles together to make a kingsize but they were not joined and no way to join them so they kept separating.
