Clean, well-maintained property but $300/night
I had a nice stay at this hotel with a balcony looking out over the channeled stream that runs through the north side of the property. The hotel is immaculate and the bar/lounge area is cozy on a winter night with live music on Fridays. The only drawbacks for me were: 1) a $23 per night "resort fee," which to me is just bait-and-switch (this is NOT a resort with tennis courts and miniature golf, etc); 2) very dark rooms (dark brown wallpaper over everything, dark curtains) and 3) absolutely tasteless food at breakfast. Powdered eggs covered in some awful cheese, cubed/frozen potato bits that tasted reconstituted, and cardboard-tasting biscuits.

Our place to stay in Bishop
On a week’s road trip. Chose Wayfinder Bishop because of the rating, review and the photos. We had a lower level creekside room and it was really nice, with a two chair sitting area, king sized mattress with a foam topper, a good breakfast area (would have liked a little more variety especially for multi night stays), a really cozy lounge with a fireplace and some bar and food service, a pool, spa and soon to be ready sauna, and outdoor sitting areas along Bishop Creek with cushioned chairs and fire pits! And it’s a half block to Schott’s Bakkery, a must-stop place in Bishop. We will return!

Critique of Wayfinder Hotel Bishop
This is a beautiful property, but the new owners have made changes that make it less appealing. The once welcoming large lobby now is divided by floor to ceiling shelves for trinkets for sale. The inner space is a lounge with a fire but only sells beer and wine. I also found the check-in time of 4 pm to be quite late. Finally, I'm a female senior citizen, and I was given a room at the very, very back of the property--alot of walking!

Great place to stay in the Eastern Sierras
We stayed here on the way to Lake Tahoe from LA. Our room was on the second floor room at the back of the property overlooking the creek. It was clean and quiet. The common areas have the feel of a mountain lodge and are very cozy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

A little hiccup...
It was very nice until we experienced no hot water for our shower on the 2nd night. My husband has to ask for some compensation due to the inconvenience. We traveled with 2 teens and just came back from an all day snow boarding. It was very uncomfortable without hor shower. Eventually, we did get 1 night free from the hotel. That was nice because we had stayed at the hotel before. We came back because we want to enjoy the wonderful pool area and outdoor scenery that the hotel has.
