I arrived, and no one was letting me in. security, airport type machines at the door main door⊠Finally got in the apartment. Holes in the walls (1 apparent and 2 or 3 patched without sanding or painting). Light/fan in the washroom didn't work, TV didn't work⊠very dirty overall. Walls were dirty, beds frame and carpet disgusting. I packed up and left.
This is not a hotel. It is a condo in a high-rise building. Parking two buildings over at $$$$. No TV, coffee but no coffee maker, no towel racks, no toilet paper holder, one bath towel and no hand-towels, kitchen, etc. A lamp broken. Contact made with zero response that evening.
The room was not refreshed from previous person. Bed undone and used towels all over. Open alcoholic bottles on the table. Disgusting. Eventually moved to a different building. . .but no follow up. Asked for some compensation or reduced rate. Never head back since.
I would not recommend even though it is priced cheaply. TV didnât work, requests to fix it didnât get completed. Bed was uncomfortable. Bathroom needs a major overhaul.
I thought I was booking a hotel room in a hotel.
This is not a hotel. This is a condo. And staying at the address booked isnât a for sure thing. The address on the booking was 14 York street and what happens is they message you the morning of your booking with your âconfirmation instructionsâ and will change your address to a different location. Luckily for us it was only moved to 12 York street.
But we had actually used a different online booking site to book a âhotelâ for the hockey game a couple nights before this booking. We didnât realise, but it was for the same address as above but the âhotelâ was called a different name on the other website. When we went to check in we didnât read the instructions as we had no idea the booking address would be changed. They had moved our booking address to somewhere 30 minutes away in the city. When we had booked the location it was because of its proximity to the hockey arena. When we rang them confused they said because the email was opened that was us confirming / agreeing to the address change!!? We were stuck on York St with our bags having to cancel that booking. It was rush hour and trying to get our car out from the underground to drive to this new location would make us late for the start of the game. We had to pay thru the nose for a last minute Airbnb that was in the same area for the night. They snuck an additional $85 cleaning fee as well. So much more that I canât fit into this word count.
Very odd set-up. Not a 'hotel'. Its a short-term rental in a condominium. Property was clean but rundown. Furniture was dated and on the cheap-side. No network TV which was a bummer if you wanted to catch the news. Didn't like the fact that the vertical blinds were missing many panels so those across the street always had a clear view into the apartment. I solo female would not be comfortable I suspect. I'd stay again in a pinch, but not a top of the list option.
